IMPROVED MEDICINE FOR HOG-CHOLERA.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 56,075, dated July 3, 1866.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN L. MASON, of the county of Jefferson and State of Kentucky, have invented a new and Improved Medicine for the Prevention and Cure of the Disease of Hogs popularly known as Hog-Cholera, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is a chemical combination or compound the components of which, with the proportions in which they respectively enter into to form said compound, are as follows: Arsenicum, six grains; cup'ri sulphatis, SlX grains; pulverized phytolacca, sixty grains. These quantities of each component, when com bined by rubbing together in a mortar, produce a sufficient quantity of the compound or medicine called by me the American Hog- Oholera Cure to make three doses of twentyfour grains each, one dose of which, adminisnamed, in the proportion above set forth, or
of any other components when combined resulting in a compound with similar properties, which components so combined or compound are a prevention and cure of the disease popularly known as hog-cholera.
