Abstract
FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing L-aspartate or a metabolite which is a derivative of L-aspartate, using Pantoea genus bacteria which is modified in such a way that α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase or citrate synthase activity in it is low; phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase or pyruvate carboxylase and glutamate dehydrogenase or glutamate synthase activity is high. Said bacteria can additionally be modified in such a way that expression of a gene selected from the following group is low: a gene which codes asparate ammonia lyase (aspartase), pyruvate kinase, glucose dehydrogenase, malate dehydrogenase.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain L-aspartate or its derivatives with high efficiency.
