Abstract

2-Indolyl-piperidinyl-1-benzodioxanyl methanol derivs. of formula (I) in racemic or optically active forms and their salts are new: (where R1 = H, 1-5C alkoxy, Cl, Br or F, R1 = H, 1-5C alkyl, R2 = 1-5C alkyl, Y and Z = H or together form a double bond, R2 may also be H when Y and Z form a double bond or when Y and Z = H, and R1 = Cl, Br or F). Cpds. (I) are antihypertensives. Also claimed are the 3 cpds. (I, R1 = 5-methoxy, R2=Y=Z=H, R1 = H), (I, R1 = 66-methoxy, R2 =Y=Z=H, R1=CH3) and (1:R1=H, R2=Y=Z=H, R1=CH3) and their salts and isomers.
