Die der Erfindung zugrunde liegende Aufgabe wird des Weiteren durch ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines eine Strukturierung umfassendes Sicherheitselement auf einem Sicherheitsdokument gelöst, bei welchem der Träger einer ersten von mehreren Druck- und/oder Bearbeitungsstationen einer Bearbeitungsanlage zugeführt wird, so dass dieser aufeinander folgend mehrere Druck- und/oder Bearbeitungsstationen durchläuft, wobei zunächst eine fließfähige Schicht zumindest zur Glättung der Oberfläche des Trägers zumindest der flächigen Erstreckung des Sicherheitselementes entsprechend aufgebracht wird, anschließend in einer nachfolgenden Bearbeitungsstation eine Klebemittelschicht zumindest abschnittsweise auf die fließfähige Schicht aufgebracht wird, darauf folgend eine Folie mit einer metallischen Schicht zugeführt und die metallische Schicht auf die Klebemittelschicht aufgebracht und die die metallische Schicht tragende Folie abgezogen wird, so dass in einer nachfolgenden Bearbeitungsstation entweder eine Strukturierung in die Metallschicht und ein anschließendes Aufbringen einer fließfähigen Schutzschicht oder das Aufbringen einer fließfähigen Schutzschicht auf die metallische Schicht und darauf folgend die Strukturierung in die Schutzschicht und die Metallschicht eingebracht wird. Durch ein solches Verfahren ist eine komplette Integration bei der Herstellung einer Strukturierung, insbesondere eines als Hologramm ausgebildeten Sicherheitselements in dem Sicherheitsdokument möglich. Durch ein solches Inline-Verfahren können zusätzliche Arbeitsgänge und Prozessschritte im Vergleich zu einer aus dem Stand der Technik bekannten Heizfolienapplizierung entfallen und eine schnellere Produktion ermöglicht sein. Beispielsweise kann gleichzeitig mit dem Einbringen der Strukturierung 21 auf die metallische Schicht 20 benachbart zum Sicherheitselement 12 eine Prüf-Prägestruktur auf den Träger 14 oder bei der alternativen Ausführungsform des Herstellungsverfahrens auf die Schutzschicht 23 eingebracht werden. Die Positionierung dieser Prüf-Prägestruktur kann beliebig und vorzugsweise außerhalb der metallischen Schicht 20 auf dem Sicherheitsdokument 11 vorgesehen sein. Vorteilhafterweise ist ein Feld auf dem Sicherheitsdokument 11 zum Aufbringen der Prüf-Prägestruktur vorgesehen. Bei einer solchen Prüf-Prägestruktur kann es sich um ein Beugungsgitter handeln, welches beispielsweise als Sinus-Gitter, als Rechteckgitter oder als ein asymmetrisches Gitter ausgebildet sein kann. Mittels eines Sensors kann nach dem Einbringen der Prüf-Prägestruktur und der Strukturierung 21 eine Beugungseffizienz der Prüf-Prägestruktur gemessen werden. Der Sensor misst dabei die Helligkeit des gebeugten Signals der Prüf-Prägestruktur und gleicht dieses erfasste Signal mit einem vorbestimmten Erwartungswert oder Mindestwert ab. Sobald das durch den Sensor erfasste Signal oberhalb des Erwartungswertes beziehungsweise des Mindestwertes liegt, kann beispielsweise das Einbringen der Strukturierung 21 als "Gut" befunden werden. Liegt das Signal unterhalb des Erwartungswertes beziehungsweise des Mindestwertes, wird dieses Sicherheitselement 11 als "Schlecht" markiert und vor weiteren Prozessen aussortiert. - The security document as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the metallic layer (20) is shiny silvery or coloured.
- The security document as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the varnish layer is plain-coloured or multi-coloured, in particular translucent.

- The method as claimed in claim 8, characterised in that the metallic layer (20) is supplied on a cold stamping film (19).
- The method as claimed in claim 8, characterised in that the structuring (21) is added to the metallic layer (20) using an embossing sleeve, an embossing roller or a printing roller.
- The method as claimed in claim 8, characterised in that subsequent to the adding of the metallic layer (20) to the adhesive layer (18), a drying step using UV or IR radiation is performed in a further processing station.
- The method as claimed in claim 8, characterised in that the fluid protective layer (23) is formed of a plurality of layers having each a different index of refraction.
- The method as claimed in claim 8, characterised in that the consecutive steps of the processing stations (33 to 37) are performed in an in-line process in which the support (14) is provided in the form of a continuous web and is cut into individual security documents (11) upon leaving the last processing station (36, 37).
