WIDTH is a peer-to-peer bandwidth marketplace built on Algorand, enabling users to sell unused Internet bandwidth and buyers to purchase it on-demand. Sellers earn ALGO tokens for their idle data, while buyers access affordable bandwidth with instant, transparent payments via Algorand smart contracts.
Millions of users in India (and globally) pay for large data packs but don’t use their full bandwidth. This unused capacity is wasted, while others pay high prices for temporary Internet access. Traditional ISPs are centralized, expensive, and inflexible.
WIDTH solves this by creating a decentralized marketplace where bandwidth can be monetized and shared efficiently.
- Peer-to-Peer Sharing – Users list unused bandwidth; buyers choose GB & duration.
- Instant ALGO Payments – Algorand smart contracts handle escrow & automated revenue splits.
- Dynamic Pricing – Costs adjust by usage, duration, and demand (surge pricing).
- Secure & Compliant – PM-WANI inspired login, KYC integration, and user logs.
- Incentives – Earn rewards via referrals, staking, and loyalty programs.
- Frontend (Web / Mobile App)
- User dashboard for sellers & buyers
- Wallet integration (ALGO payments)
- Bandwidth selection UI
- Smart Contracts (Algorand)
- Escrow payments in ALGO
- Dynamic pricing engine
- Revenue split automation (Seller / ISP / Platform)
- Backend Services
- KYC verification (Aadhaar/DigiLocker APIs)
- Bandwidth usage monitoring & logs
- Compliance checks
- Network Layer
- Seller’s device/PM-WANI routers share bandwidth securely
- Buyer connects via verified access points
Every transaction (e.g., 1 ALGO / GB
) is split among stakeholders:
- Seller: 97.5% (passive earnings)
- ISP: 1% (partnership share)
- Platform: 1.5% ALGO (commission & growth)
Revenue Streams
- Transaction commission (primary)
- Premium subscription services
- ISP partnerships
- Phase 1 – Pilot in India: Focus on campuses, IT hubs, and residential broadband users. Partner with ISPs.
- Phase 2 – Growth: Referral programs, staking rewards, student outreach.
- Phase 3 – Scale: Rural PM-WANI kiosks, nationwide rollout, and global expansion.
- Telecom: Aligned with PM-WANI (no license needed for PDOs in India).
- KYC: Buyers & sellers must complete Aadhaar/DigiLocker verification.
- Crypto: ALGO is used as payment. Complying with India’s KYC/AML rules, 30% crypto tax, and 1% TDS.
- Terms of Use: Prohibit illegal activity. Platform acts as facilitator, not ISP.
- Blockchain: Algorand (AVM Smart Contracts)
- Frontend: React.js / Next.js
- Backend: Node.js, Express
- Infra: PM-WANI routers, ISP integrations
- MVP Development (Marketplace + ALGO payments)
- Pilot Testing in Indian metro city (campus/IT hub)
- Public Launch with ISP partnerships
- Scale to nationwide PM-WANI hotspots & global expansion
