I'm John. I am a teaching fellow at Edinburgh University where I teach on the MSc Data Science programme.

For a while I worked as an instructor at the Edinburgh digital skills academy, CodeClan, where I taught data science to career changers. But then the Scottish government chose not to continue its backing, and failed to help keep it afloat.

I am most comfortable speaking in the R language, but can also make myself undertood in Python, SQL, and JS. And sometimes, if I mash the keyboard a bit, something resembling Haskell occasionally pops out.

Prior to working at CC I was a researcher at the University of Stirling.
