I noticed that girder-client was only published on PyPI as a source distribution, but it's also lacking current standard metadata regarding its build-time dependencies, which can make installing it downstream a bit odd, so I'm proposing this modernization.
I don't know much about the project/repo as a whole, but it looks like there is at least one other package here that could benefit from the same migration. Please let me know if that's desired, and I'll be happy to migrate any other package here.

I also recommend publishing all packages as wheels as well as sdists, and I'm also happy to contribute necessary changes to make this happen if desired.
