When publishing from a backport branch, GitHub Releases and Git tags do not get created #636

Description

@steveluscher

Here is an example of a publish that was kicked off by landing a Changesets ‘Version Packages’ PR on the backport/v2.x branch.

https://github.com/anza-xyz/kit/actions/runs/16150547305/job/45582980313 (gist logs)

This PR should have done these things, but did none of them:

  • Make a Git tag v2.1.1
  • Create a GitHub Release for version 2.2.1

Notes:

  • It looks like this condition failed, causing the ‘push tags’ part of the workflow to be ignored
