@iynaix I've been trying to force latest changes via overrideAttrs inside my shell.nix and after experimenting around, I've ran into this issue:

Since maintainers didn't respond, I'm assuming that they are not releasing new version due to usage of unstable features (syntax). From this, we can guess that maintainers are...:

Waiting those unstable features to become stable.
They are cooking something really really huge.

If only I could find out how to use nightly rust in overlay and rebuild package using nightly rust.

Would love to hear maintainer's feedback or update on upcoming release!

Update 1:
After doing some lurking around, I've found out that features mentioned as unstable were in fact stabilized in 2024 edition of rust and project also uses 2024, bit confused tbh.

Note: This feature was stabilized in 1.88.0 but on edition 2024 only. If you are using 1.88.0+ and get an error that the feature is still unstable, please upgrade the edition. The error message is being improved.

Update 2:
25.05 uses rustc and cargo from 1.86, 2 minor release outdated. maybe use unstable nixpkgs?

It worked! Statix is happy with me using pipe-operators! I passed unstable nixpkgs to nix shell and pointed src to latest commit. Please, feel free to take a look:
