Starting in May 2025, CMake Tools will transition to a more flexible release schedule, with releases targeted for approximately every six months. This adjustment is intended to ensure that we can continue to deliver high-quality features and bug fixes, while still maintaining a reliable cadence of official releases. The proposed release date cycles are outlined in the chart below and will be updated closer to the proposed release date.

In addition to these official releases, nightly builds of the main branch will be published to the pre-release channel whenever there are updates to the source code.
