Imagine experiencing 10-20 hurricanes a year, that's what the Philippines goes through every single year, and has been going through for the past few decades I've been alive.

A typhoon is just a hurricane but in the Pacific. And the Philippines has at least one supertyphoon a year; a hurricane on steroids.

Right now the Philippines is experiencing two typhoons in a row. You literally can't see land from satellite images, and mind you the Philippines is large enough to blanket multiple European countries.

If you see any resources to send aid or donate to the Philippines, it's needed now more than ever.

Cebu and Negros and southern Philippines were hit hard by the previous supertyphoon Tino, with Cebu still reeling from an earthquake right before. The current supertyphoon Uwan is hitting the north, including metro Manila.

Some trusted aid groups include Angat Buhay, which you can follow on social media for updates.

Here are some ways to donate:

It's somewhat difficult to bridge the usual donation links between North America and Europe and the Philippines, so if you see people you know collecting donations for their community on PayPal or Ko-Fi try to donate through them.

$1 USD = 50-60 PHP, which is enough to buy a single meal, so every dollar goes a very long way! Even if you only donate $5 that could help an entire family!

Here's an international link for Red Cross!

the more educated you get on fat issues the more you realize that almost everything that supposedly justifies fatphobia is actually complete bullshit. most of the health conditions that are treated as almost divine punishment for being fat (like heart issues and diabetes) are being revealed to actually *cause weight gain* instead of being caused *by* it. this goes for social 'consequences' of being fat, too. is that "neckbeard" redditor actually fat because he spends all his time online, or is it that he spends all of his time online because he's not treated like a person if you can see that he's fat, so the internet is his best option? everything is less accessible to fat people. seats on busses, at restaurants, and even at things like amusement parks, are frequently too small to comfortably sit in for a fat person. people treat you worse if you're fat, or even try to avoid you entirely. you get judged for doing leisure activities, or even for exercising at a public gym, (which proves the claims of trying to motivate you to get fit are bullshit btw) getting filmed and laughed at, posted online for your body to be a punchline. if you want to be progressive or body positive you *need* to be examining your beliefs. oppressed people are routinely forced into positions that, from the outside, may justify the narrative about these people. black folk are pushed into poverty, so that crime is often their only means of survival, enforcing the idea that black folk are criminals. queer folk are made unsafe in public so that we use codes to identify each other, enforcing the idea that queer folk are trying to secretly seduce people to be gay. and yes, fat folk are forced indoors and online so that they can enforce the narrative that we are lazy shut-ins.

"I'm still kicking" is such a funny way to say "I'm still alive". Like lol. I'm still thrashing. Flailing. Writhing even. The violence remains.

reposting this here from Instagram! If you have Instagram it’s easier for me to keep this organized in my dms there (@samimarkart) but you can message me on tumblr too if that’s your only social media! Visiting with family this weekend but I’ll be able to ship these out later this week <3

given all the rising transphobia and shit, we should remember that white trannies are still relatively safe and will be able to endure more escalation more easily, we're not at the top of any shit list even if we near if, trans women of color however are very vulnerable, and we need to remember they're our sisters, not our shields

First time I opened the notes on this the latest reblog was "stooooo this is causing infigthing!"

Second time was "also men!"

Fucking stop.

Stop being so fucking fragile and just support black transfems. Can you do that? For even 5 fucking minutes?

Here's a pretty good organization that does this type of work!

The Black Trans Travel Fund is a Black trans-led collective rooted in self-advocacy and mutual aid for Black trans women globally, our mission is to provide travel support, connect communities internationally, and establish paths towards opportunities, safety, and success.

Keep this post in support and circulation till the link doesn't work. Till we don't need it anymore. Till you're blue in the face.

I’m making this post on the behalf of my friends Sami and Hamza, and their family who are all continuing to suffer in Gaza. With Israel blocking aid and still bombing the strip, their situation remains dire — especially since they live in a tent, and the days and nights are growing colder as winter approaches.

Please, please if you’ve the means consider donating to their fundraiser here, or reblogging their campaign to get more eyes on it. Sami’s family has lots of children, and his older parents, and they deserve to be fed and live safely. Thank you so much.

100 more to reach 6000 euros. Is anyone here?

Please, listen to their voices and help Sami and his family by donating to their fundraiser! Every euro could make a difference, no matter how little the amount. Don’t forget to also share this post so that it may reach a bigger audience who may also help. Sami’s family deserves to live in peace.

You are kind people, would you please donate without hesitation?

Over three hundred writers, scholars, and public figures are refusing to publish in the Opinions section of the The New York Times in solidarity with Palestinians.

The Times relies on the Opinion section to maintain its reputation. They recruit respected subject matter experts to provide freelance labor as guest essayists, while framing their work as a matter of debate in the Opinion section. Meanwhile the claims of Israeli officials are elevated to "News."

As described in the Death Panel Podcast interview ( No Opinion w/ Lara Sheehi & Sophie Lewis - 11/06/25), the Times uses its Opinions section to launder its reputation as a Zionist propaganda outlet:

This is exactly the way this apparatus has been designed. The idea that, "we’re liberals, we have a dinner party approach to truth and fascism. You are very much welcome to say that the Zionist entity is a genocidal monstrosity, but you will say so in the Opinions section." While everything about the building that this "dinner party" is taking place in, metaphorically speaking, is materially, overwhelmingly invested in the continuance of Palestinian elimination.

We must not allow any illusions that the Times is unique in its commitment to Zionism. Of course all the mainstream US publications are. However, like other boycotts in solidarity with Palestine, the point is to choose a target and sustain it indefinitely and completely, so not only are they forced to comply with demands, but all other similar organizations fear being the next target if they do not change too.

Don't Read The Times, Read This

My friend Mahrah (@mahrahpalestine) is in Gaza right now with her family. My wife and I are in a group chat on Signal with her and her brother, Mahmoud, who is in Egypt.

When the ceasefire was announced, they hoped they could be reunited. But Israel and the United States always break their promises to Indigenous people. The occupation is controlling the movement of people and aid, keeping everyone in Gaza in a constant state of fear and famine as bombings continue.

Their family's fundraising has been vetted by @90-ghost and shared by fairuzfan. My wife, @cannilyuncanny, is personally hosting their GoFundMe campaign and is continuing to send transfers of donations. She sent another transfer just this morning. I can promise you that these funds are making it to Mahrah's family in Gaza. They are using these donations to get food, water, and supplies.

Please continue to support them. This is a life sustaining effort, and we need your help.

Please, we still need you. Anything that makes a difference, thank you all for everything you always do for us.

Fun fact telling and explaining to people what will happen if they go to emergency asking for help for being a danger to themselves/others is not… bad. People should know what to expect, and make an informed choice based on available information instead of being lied to. It is not “scaring people away from help.”

You all love informed consent till it’s a crazy person.

i remember when i was 21 i took myself to the hospital because i needed somewhere safe to be for the night while my psychotic episode was passing. i explained what i was happening, that i was lucid, and that i just needed some help. i was immediately strip searched and had my phone taken away and almost had anxiety medication forcibly injected. i was then left alone in a brightly lit room with no clothes, was refused water, and was completely ignored when i asked to make a phone call. i was there for almost 7 hours before they gave me my phone back so i could call my parents to come pick me up. they then charged me $2000. people absolutely should know what can happen in the ER because it is not guaranteed by any means to be a helpful experience. i would’ve been better off asking to stay with a friend.

A ceo leaves for a week, very few people notice.

The custodial staff leave for a day, everyone notices.

Sanitation and custodial workers deserve far more money and respect than they generally get.

I don't think people understand the degree to which society is kept alive by the labor of the least well-regarded professions. If sewage technicians and sanitation workers and their expertise and knowledge were to disappear tomorrow, the streets would pile high with bodies in every city. We live in a world where we get to be blessedly ignorant to just how fast, how brutally and how violently cholera can rip through a community. How many babies it can kill. How many elderly bodies it can devour alive. You've never seen what it's like when typhoid takes root.

"Oh but we have modern medicine" if you don't have clean drinking water and a way to dispose of your piss and shit and trash you are going to fucking die. No if or but or maybe, you are dead, and so are half the people you know.

It is now six o'clock in the morning, the sounds of explosions do not stop even though there is a ceasefire, but I do not know what this madness is.

It's very cold in the tent at night, my children get sick and my mother is sick, because we simply sleep in the street.

I need at least $70 a day to buy food, drinks, and supplies for my children and family.

But donations are scarce, and I can't provide all of that.

I am here for my children, please donate and share.
