I MADE A SILLY GAME ABOUT KEMMI IN SCRATCH

(the goofy children's programming website) it's like 2 minutes long and kinda glitchy cus it's my first time doing something like this but for the most part it works hahaha I had so much fun making the art for it and fleshing out Kemmi's "lore" lol some more

Feel free to check out the game on the website (small blood warning for the game)

MUST HAVE A KEYBOARD I'M SORRY 😭

Anyway here's some spoiler free art of the game and some extra bonus art of Kemmi I don't have in the game

⚠️SPOILERS AND BLOOD AHEAD ⚠️

FOR THE SILLY 2 MINUTE GAME YOU SHOULD PLAAAY

Answer to an ask I accidentally deleted

:"D idk remeber the user of the person who asked this but they asked something like,

"the mailbox you made is made of separate boxes but the bird you made looks like it's one mesh could you explain your process with the bird model and show off it's wire frame?"

Thank you so much for the ask! Sorry it took me a while to respond but I hope this is still helpful! The bird is actually split up into a ton of different parts just like the mailbox these ones are just a bit less square

I think the most difficult part of this project was the uvs. Making the pixels look constant was definitely a challenge for certain body parts. I didn't take the time to merge all my uvs so I have like 5 separate textures for this one model which is probably really silly but I'm not gonna put it in a game or anything so I didn't bother. thinking about it like a minecraft skin really helped me with get it right haha but that might not help everyone.

for the pixel art gradients I used a method I figured out a while ago that is really easy. I shade on an image size about 4x the size of my pixel art and use a screen tone effect on those shading layers I then rasterize the effect and resize it back to my pixel art size, using different big image sizes, screen tone sizes/shapes, and the resize style will change the look of the funky gradient it's a bit of trail and error but when you get it right it's so fun.

Oh. My. Goodness! It was me, Fruitzapple. I was the one who asked about the bird and then forgot that I asked you about it, lol. Seriously, it is such a blessing to accidentally come across this post and see that you have answered my ask so long ago, thank you. As a Blender novice, it is inspiring to know that I could make characters out of multiple pieces and still have them look like one mesh.

That said, I have been doing pretty well in my own 3D journey, even made a character a bit ago:

I'll have to share the video of my first animation with this model and rig in a separate post, lol. Still, good to see you again.

Omg! I'm so glad you found it! I love the stylization of the character! :0 you should definitely post your animation! I look forward to seeing what you make! 🎉🎉

Pale Peryton Taur 3d model

It's been a long time in the works but it's finally done!

Thank you so much @pale-peryton for letting me work on your character! I had an amazing time working with you to make Pale come to life in 3D your ideas and feedback made this project really fun I had such a good time

Happy Stomps
"Lost in The Sauce" Spa Scene Recreation

Thank you BirdNerd for letting me recreate your Lost in The Sauce artwork in 3D, the original is so detailed and fun, analyzing all the details to create in my style, a 3d setting, and in motion was such a fun challenge I hope I did your artwork justice :D

Any tips for someone who wants to learn Blender?

thanks for the ask and yeah!

I think my #1 tip is when you get stuck look up youtube blender tutorials relevant to your project every time I have run into a road block on blender a youtube tutorial has saved me, I saved most of the tutorials that have helped me on this youtube playlist just for future reference for myself because I often forget the stuff I learn the first time implementing it into my own work but I realize that the playlist is probably a good tool for others too so feel free to check it out.

There's also a lot of good written info about blender on reddit and the user manual if you have better reading comprehension than me lol this comment on reddit is a really good example of how reddit can be really helpful

Have fun! Lots of people recommend starting on an easy blender tutorial like the classic doughnut and following it mostly to the letter and I get that if it's your first time opening blender but using the tools shown in a blender tutorial to make something you like, like your oc is really where you start to love the program and learn how to use it. At least that's how it worked for me, personally haha if I'm gonna spend months following tutorial/tutorials I need to be REALLY excited for the final product so make something you like with the tools given to you and that you find. Make what you draw, ocs, buildings, inventions, furries, plants, hahaha whatever makes you hyped about learning blender make that as many times as you need to tell you're happy.

Hi do you take 3d model requests or commissions? Love your work :D

Avatar

Thanks for the ask! Sadly I do not take 3d model requests at the moment but I do sometimes do art trades and artfight attacks that are 3d models (feel free to send me your user if you are participating in artfight this year and I'd love to consider your characters) as for commissions I do open them occasionally and I'm hoping to open them again sometime soon feel free to dm me if you'd like to be on the notification list

would you take vr model commissions?? your models are gorgeous!

Avatar

Thanks for the ask! Currently I do not do vrchat or vtuber commissions because I don't feel confident in my unity knowledge, although I'm always totally happy to take commissions that have the intention of being turned into vrchat or vtuber models later by another artist who knows more about the unity set up needed for those, just let me know beforehand so I don't do anything that would be hard to convert later on :D I'm also super happy to help you reach out to artists that know more about that process than me
