Because we live in a patriarchal society and because trans men Are men, trans men benefit from the oppression of trans women similarly to how any man benefits from the oppression of women in a patriarchal society.

It is hard to list every instance where a trans man may benefit from something oppressing trans women, since it’s hard In General to list every instance where a man benefits in a patriarchal society, but I think a good simple example is seeing how trans men are treated by transphobic media compared to trans women.

In transphobic media, trans men are typically portrayed as confused little girls who are victims of grooming, while trans women are portrayed as predators or scary men in dresses. Since a lot of media are reflections of a culture’s beliefs, many people believe this about trans men and trans women. That being, if a trans man chooses to go back in the closet for safety reasons, he may be treated with more sympathy since people may view him as a confused victim, while a trans woman who chooses to do the same thing may not get that similar sympathy, due to her being seen as a predator.

While obviously both depictions of both groups are transphobic and horrible, a trans man may benefit from it more than a trans woman in certain situations.

There are, of course, other instances where trans men hold more privilege over trans women, such as getting paid more, having a higher chance of getting job opportunities, etc. this is something to be expected from a typical misogynistic society however, so it’s not surprising.

people born female arent really ever rewarded for masculinity, and you're using an example of a trans man who perfectly passes and has no one who might out him. thats not really viable.

in a mysoginistic society, masculinity is valued in people born males, and people born female are generally regected from it.

trans women are portrayed worse, yes, but that doesnt give trans men any upper hand against them, we are both equally opressed, and our rights are linked, infighting only splits our focus and prevents us from helping eachother.

trans men dont neccicarily get paid more, or have better job oppertunities, thats, again, using the example of a perfectly passing white trans man who no one knows is trans. if someone doesnt like trans women, they arent going to like trans men.

if someone things a trans woman is inherently a predator, they'll not value a trans man, because that trans man is just a confused girl who needs help and doesnt know what shes doing.

transphobes sympathy doesnt count for anything, and i dont think anyone should value how a transphobe sees them. just because a trans man MIGHT get sympathy, doesnt mean that he will in any way be rewarded or given much grace.

trans men, in the eyes of transphobes ARENT MEN they're confused girls, you're putting two opposing points together to make your point.

if men are rewarded in the patriarchy, and trans men are seen as just confused girls, that doesnt get them any reward.

and, that reward would come from inherently being born female, not putting down trans women.

trans men are also portrayed as dangerous, not in the same way trans women are, but through our hormones.

testosterone is portrayed as dangerous, and people on it are portrayed as violent or mean, mostly in jokes, but some in serious.

trans men do not benifit from the opression of trans women, any more than trans women might benifit from the opression of trans men.

im sorry for all the spelling mistakes, i just woke up, so, please give me a bit of grace with that.

The seniors on my cheer team are all making a practice playlist and asked why I haven't added any of my music to the playlist yet...

Should I add shit like ICP and MSI and TX2 and Mother Mother and Living Tombstone and just see how it fucking goes?

uh, rehersals are at the same time as cheer practice, and when i walk in, this cheerleader girl always stops me to say hello, and yesterday she complimented my (sort of goth) makeup.

and im already on the floor. tis a PROBLEM.
