We have a portfolio company called Transformer Lab that is the fastest growing LLM dev tool in our portfolio: https://transformerlab.ai/. They have built an open source platform to support engineers and researchers that train, tune and evaluate LLMs using local or cloud compute. Teams at large and small labs are using it to improve the velocity of their LLM ML teams -- they are a small and friendly team that would love to demo the (free, open source) tool to your ML team if anyone is interested.

What if unstructured data could reveal its hidden patterns—instantly? At Designing with AI 2025, Ian Johnson, Chief Data Alchemist at Latent Interfaces, will show how AI can transform chaotic text into actionable insights. Join us June 10-11 for his session, "Latent Scope: Finding structure in unstructured data" to learn how this open-source tool turns sprawling datasets into clear visual narratives. 🔍 Inside the talk: The challenge: Why unstructured data (like open-ended survey responses) resists traditional analysis The breakthrough: How Latent Scope combines embeddings, clustering, and LLMs to map hidden themes Real-world impact: See how phrases like "the time it takes" and "the importance of good design" emerge as clusters—even when respondents use entirely different wording 🛠️ Why it matters for designers and data professionals: Latent Scope isn't just a tool—it's a new workflow for anyone drowning in unstructured text. By automating the journey from raw data to labeled clusters, it lets teams focus on interpreting insights rather than wrangling spreadsheets. Together, let's see how AI can turn ambiguity into clarity—and redefine what's possible in data-driven design. I'm excited to share an interactive article exploring UX for steering similarity search with Sparse Autoencoders: https://lnkd.in/eUaVjmyH You can play with the UI and explore 50,000 dad jokes by the concepts found in the embedding model by the SAE. The article also tries to build up an intuition for the various technical pieces that make this work, without going into code or math.

We're hiring at Transformer Lab. The biggest thing I can say about working on this project is that, for me, developing code for Transformer Lab has been the most enjoyable job in my life. So we spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to make that true forever, for everyone on our team. Are you someone that just loves to write and deploy code every day? Reach out to me and let's chat.

Reflecting on the way that my relationship to computers and the internet has changed over the past decade prompted me to download a complete archive of my Facebook history before I went on vacation. Today, I used a python script to iterate through every folder in my Facebook messages archive and generate a .csv file with message content. I then uploaded the .csv file to ChatGPT to query and interrogate the data, asking it questions about myself and my growth. The result is a small website that tells a short story about the waves of my life - from an overly optimistic high school student, to discovering the growing pains of adolescence, to the more resolute version of myself that I am today. This exercise has challenged my assumptions about my memory, myself, and who I thought I was in the past. Link to the more details in the comments.

Have you ever wanted to look "inside" a large language model. We added a number of features to Transformer Lab around LLM visualization that I can't stop playing with. Take a look or try it yourself by downloading our (free, open-source) app.

The Builders site is nominated for a Webby! We’re up against some tough competition, like Doodle for Google. Every vote counts, and it only takes approximately 10.72 seconds to cast yours, so show us some love. https://lnkd.in/eG4NXfkG We may be biased, but we believe the Builders brand and site are more memorable, sophisticated, and authentic than any other work in the AI-community space. Many thanks are due to the incredible team at Upstatement, who helped us bring the brand and site to life in just 12 weeks. Spread the word and vote! Open source FTW, The Builders Team

LinkedIn family! 🚀 #Humbled to share the learnings from our Webby's promotional campaign. But first...ICYMI: Builders is nominated! And you should vote for us. (Link in comments #LinkedInAlgorithmHack) Now, onto the 5 PARADIGM-SHIFTING sales insights: - "Potentially award-winning" carries the same weight as "award-winning" if you use enough exclamation points!!! - Creating 17 different email signatures with "Webby Nominee" boosts credibility by 32.8% - Sharing the nomination webpage during every Zoom call builds what I call "trophy proximity authority" - Mentioning competitors who weren't nominated establishes dominance - The phrase "as seen in the same awards program as Google" is technically not false My data-driven approach has already generated UNPRECEDENTED levels of colleagues politely nodding when I mention it. Who else believes in celebrating the journey, not just the destination?
