  • We are proud to have led the final plenary session at #TrustCon2025 this morning. Our CEO Sean Litton was joined by leaders from three of our members to reflect on their impressive careers in trust and safety, major moments of impact along the way, and what keeps them motivated. Thank you to Jud Hoffman (Discord), Josh Parecki (Zoom), and Courtney G. (Microsoft) for sharing your thoughts, experiences and predictions for the future. Thank you also to all of our members who have participated the Child Safety Track sessions during #TrustCon2025. The discussions have been impactful and inspiring. Now it’s time for us to get started on TC Connect, our invite-only track. Thank you again to Trust & Safety Professional Association for the opportunity to collaborate!

Another great, impactful day here at @TSPA’s #TrustCon2025, jam-packed with inspiring conversations around trust and safety online. Kay Chau started our day off by moderating a panel about how gaming companies are addressing online child sexual exploitation. Panelists from our member companies Paul Sanders (Sony Interactive Entertainment), Matt Turner (Roblox), and Anne Hobson, PhD (Meta) explored how the gaming industry is working together, including by developing a gaming sector roadmap and sharing signals through Lantern to combat cross-platform abuse. (Read about industry’s responses to OSCEA in gaming: https://lnkd.in/euQUy2Ve) Katia Potapov gave a presentation on launching an effective OCSEA prevention program, covering practical steps companies can take to create a strong foundation for child protection, and how the Pathways program can help companies set up a successful trust and safety function. (More on Pathways: https://lnkd.in/escFnYPh) Our presentation on the Lantern program by Kay and Anthony Vallario (Block) covered how financial institutions can contribute meaningfully to OCSEA detection via signal-sharing, using results from our latest Lantern pilot. (More on the results of our financial sector pilot: https://lnkd.in/d7s-H5nP) Later in the afternoon, our President and CEO, Sean Litton, moderated a discussion on generative AI with Tech Coalition members Emily Kennedy (Patreon), Ryn Linthicum (Anthropic), and Severo Guardado (Cantina Labs). The panel spoke about how their platforms detect, prevent and remove AI-generated child sexual abuse content, and in what ways AI can be used to improve child safety online. (Read more: https://lnkd.in/epyEBGYk) It was a busy day, but we’re already gearing up for our TC Connect industry-only event tomorrow.

  • That’s a wrap on Day 1 at #TrustCon2025! Today, as part of our sponsored Child Safety Track, we moderated the “Combating Financial Sextortion of Minors: Industry Strategies for Prevention and Response” discussion. Panelists from our member companies included: • Leah Treitman (Meta) • Jay Bogert, CAMS (PayPal) • Viraj Doshi (Snap Inc.) • Lili Nguyen (TikTok) Together, they shared their insights on how companies may detect and respond to cases of financial sextortion, the role of signal sharing in combating cross-platform abuse, and how industry-wide collaboration has enabled progress toward improved response. Read more about how the tech industry is tackling financial sextortion: https://lnkd.in/e4kV74m7 Our very own Kay Chau provided framing remarks at the “Unmasking AI Nudification: A Trust & Safety Challenge” workshop. Kay highlighted how we are leveraging knowledge-sharing and research to understand how undressing apps are manifesting across different platforms and where companies can take action. Thank you so much to our panelists and participants today. This was a great start to TrustCon, and we look forward to more great discussions tomorrow!

  • We are excited to share that the Lantern financial sector pilot has successfully concluded. Launched last summer, the pilot brought together six companies across tech and finance, resulting in nearly 2,000 signals shared, triggering over 100 investigations by financial institutions into financially motivated child sexual exploitation and abuse. The pilot validated the value of cross-sector collaboration to build a safer digital and financial ecosystem. Based on strong results and board participant support, the Tech Coalition will now begin formally integrating eligible U.S.-based financial institutions into Lantern. Thank you to the companies that helped test this pilot – MEGA The Privacy Company, Meta, Snap Inc., Cash App, PayPal, and Western Union – and to every company participating in Lantern. Their collaboration continues to demonstrate what’s possible when industry comes together to tackle complex, cross-platform harm. Find the results: https://lnkd.in/d7s-H5nP
