I had the privilege of serving on the board of the Digital Trust and Safety Partnership during the development of the Safe Framework, and I’m really proud to see it adopted as an international standard, ISO/IEC 25389. Grateful to David Sullivan for his thoughtful leadership and the many contributors from across the industry that made this a reality — this is a meaningful step forward for the Trust & Safety field.
🚨 Big news: there's now an #internationalstandard for #trustandsafety: the Safe Framework, ISO/IEC 25389 (links in comments) Over the past four years, the Digital Trust and Safety Partnership has developed the Safe Framework through industry collaboration, public consultation, and extensive engagement with the international standards community, resulting in the first international standard for digital safety across diverse products and services. Huge thanks to all of the DTSP partner companies and representatives past and present who made this happen (tagging lots of you in the comments). Special thanks to Mark Svancarek and the Microsoft standards team for helping DTSP navigate the world of ISO, as well as to our mentor Norbert Bensalem and Phil Wennblom and Lisa Rajchel from JTC 1. I'll have lots more to say about this milestone and why it matters coming soon, including a presentation at #TrustCon next week! PS: most standards cost money, but this one is available at no cost, from both the DTSP website and from ISO
