We arrived after our chilly hike along the trail to a very warm and inviting traditional home. It was stocked with tea, coffee and drinks in the fridge, as well as some snacks. There were so many different areas to sit and relax in the home, we felt soo welcome and at home we did not want to leave. This was a stark contrast to our Air bnb we had in Kyoto where we felt we could not relax or enjoy the property. The sleepy town was fun to explore, the cafe next door was also very warm and welcoming filled with music and warmth. And the beds!! Being 6 months pregnant I was a little worried about the traditional futons on the floor but it was the best sleep I has the whole 3 weeks in Japan. I also appreciated the number of chairs for me to sit in. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing stay, we wish we could have stayed longer.

民宿 和屋 ligger i Takayama, 17 minutters gang fra Takayama Station og 800 m fra centrum. Her er aircondition, gratis wi-fi og en have. The owner is super kind, we didn't expect the pick up but he had tried to arrange it for us even he was still busy on the date we've arrived. The room is big with 2 stories, 2 bedrooms. The location is not far from old town and just in front of beautiful scenic canel with many Sakura trees (but we were there in should season, so no luck to see Sakura by the canel. This room is super value for money.

Beautiful, spacious, exceptionally clean and very well equipped. One of the most equipped and clean apartment I have stayed in. WiFi was good too. Both toilets are downstairs so maybe difficult for elderly but we had kids and they loved running up and down.

飛騨高山浮世絵INN画侖 ligger i lige i hjertet af Takayama og har et boblebad. Dette feriehus ligger 2,7 km fra Hida Folk Village og 48 km fra Gero Station. It feels like being in a gallery. A very exceptional and unique experience, a highlight in our stay in Takayama.

The place was immaculate and had everything we needed. We had a great sleep in a comfy bed. Nice bonus to have a coffee machine for the mornings too! The house is on a quiet residential street, very peaceful. Walking distance to Nagoya Castle and beautiful Meijo park.

Everything…..the house is beautiful, well equiped, close to the station and a number of dining options. The host has well thought out the little touches that make the stay even better. Beds were comfortable. Kids loved playing the Nintendo Switch. Huge washing machine meant I could do all my washing in one go too!
