The place is very cozy, spotless, and clearly well cared for. Since it’s run directly by the owners, the service feels personal and truly superb. The location is excellent—just a few minutes’ walk to both Bowness-on-Windermere and Windermere town, making it very convenient. One thing that really stood out was the thoughtful touches: complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and cookies, all refilled daily—something you don’t usually get at hotels. We booked this for our advance wedding anniversary and were greeted with a sweet little surprise, which made our stay extra special. We only paid a small amount for an additional chocolate treat, which was absolutely worth it. Breakfast was also fantastic, with plenty of options to choose from. You can really feel the love and care Rich and Ada put into running their lodge—it makes all the difference. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Lake District!
