It was true, quaint and traditionally Japanese ryokan experience. Upon check in we were greeted with tea and sweets, as well as a full overview provided by our hosts. Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. Originally developed as a lodging for the temples’ pilgrims, it conducts Buddhist services every morning that guests can attend. Nankai Koyasan Train Station is a 15-minute drive away.

Fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding, each room comes with a flat-screen TV and a seating area. A safety deposit box is also provided. Beautiful shukubo in Koyasan. The temple is across from the Konpon Daito Pagoda, easy to reach from the bus stop. The breakfast and dinner were very nice and delicious. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The facilities were spotless and really clean. Our room had a view of the garden which made it feel very calm and peaceful. This is one of our favorite accommodations in Japan!

Guests can wear colourful yukata robes at the property. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. Wonderful stay in Kinosaki. Exceeded our expectations in relation to the price. Staff was incredibly welcoming.

Free Wi-Fi access is available at the entire property. Staying at Seikoro Ryokan was an unforgettable experience. As Europeans, we were truly amazed by the historical atmosphere of this place, established in 1831. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making sure every detail contributed to the unique charm of the ryokan. The traditional Japanese breakfasts were absolutely delicious. A stay we will remember for a very long time.

Some units in the ryokan have private entrance and are equipped with wardrobe and tatami. Units are complete with a private bathroom, while certain units at the ryokan also provide guests with a seating area. The interior and finish were amazing , the blend of Japanese and Scandinavian furnishings were so elegant. Staying at the traditional Japanese room gave us a true Japanese experience.

Authentic place in a very quiet village near one of the most beautiful temples! It was our first time in ryokan and it was pleasant experience (including onsen). Breakfast was very interesting and the owner is sooo kind!

This 4-star ryokan offers a lift and free shuttle service. There is a restaurant serving Japanese cuisine, and free private parking is available. Everything was top notch, from accommodation to the very friendly and helpful staff. Object has shuttle bus that will take you to JR Kameoka which is great way to get back to Kyoto. Much recommended
