Ocean view was beautiful. Restaurants are open and delicious. Staff was polite, friendly and helpful. Bicycles and kyacks are free to use for limited time. The two pools were clean and the bar/food staff were prompt, polite. Staff decorating for the holidays, it's going to be a wonderland of lights. It's really the only resort that is open and functioning with adjoining restaurants and amenities. Umbrella and chairs are set up every morning on beach with attendant driving on beach to assist people. Marina filled with Manatees to view from docks or kyacks. The resort staff has done amazing job of restoring property with new landscaping after Ian & Milton hurricanes.

Both Sanibel and Captiva's vegetation with massive amounts of dead trees, reminds one of the aftermath of the nuclear bomb dropped at Nagasaki in 1945. I gather the islands were flooded with salt water during hurricane Ian in 2022, and as such this is beyond your control. But super depressing it is never the less. I hope you will fully recover one day although I suspect it will probably not happen in my lifetime.

The hotel has a great vibe.

Not the fault of the property but bug spray is a necessity

Amazing staff, full Starbucks coffee bar on property, free bicycle and kayak rentals, and right across to the beach

We checked in. It was rushed. I still have no receipts that I was told I was going to get. We had to figure out where to go and what to do on the property. No place to eat with our pets. So how do you deem pet friendly. On location pizza place. Went there at 6:20pm waited to 6:35p. No one around. Went to the front desk for questions about the horrible wifi, tv reception and where are all these shells everyone talks about. That didn’t go well. As for the wifi my answer was a shoulder shrug. Beds hard, pillows horrible, can’t change the time on the clock, three lists of channels for the tv still not sure how it works. Captiva town snobs. We went to Sanibel the next day. That was so much better except the $5 an hour to pay for beaches the tax payers help pay to renurish. Overall the room looked nice and was clean but for the price we were charged and I am not sure that was even correct because I haven’t received a receipt. Going to Sanibel if we go back that way next time. St Augustine a lot better and here we come.

Having the beach across the street was rally good. The only friendly staff was Brian the Bartender at the pool bar. The sunset was nice the first day.

Staff. No one talked to you. I was overcharged at the pool bar and credit card from booking.com and the credit card I put on file at check in were both charged. Only good feedback would be the staff where you get the kayaks, they were great.

The resort was overall nice, and the facilities were good. However the value simply did not measure up to the cost. Furthermore due to the infamous "red tide" our family never got to take a walk on the beach, and we even had to steer clear of our balcony as we couldn't stop coughing.

well the we got the very very last room on the upper level in the far back by the docks (at the END) and I was upset about that because i asked for ground floor (husband has walking issues)..........and that area of the property was under Constuction so lots of garbage containers, debris around not really a rentable space! no view back of the bushes,,,, I kind of felt like BC we had a small 20 lb service dog they put us in the worst room? The bed was old school spring base that squeaked when you rolled over - that made the sleeping hell. The advertised restaurants aren't even open around the pool (pizza place & coffee bar, and their actual BAR around the pool was closed up before dark. etc.) since the last Hurricane - only the main bldg. for food and the entire island is also dining there and they surely do no give the hotel guests the first options for reserved spots. That should be reflected on the WEB - but the beach was amazing across the street - short walk.

Traveling with family, we stayed in a suite with a sleeper sofa. The sofa was like sleeping on a field of stones which squeaked loudly with the slightest movement. No wifi inside the room, and therefore no tv as that was run through the internet. The coffee machine didn’t work. I understand that the island is still reeling from the impact of hurricanes, but for the price I paid for my room and dinner at old captiva house, I expected so much more than a very old and tired property - a property that looks like it needed a lot of attention even before the hurricanes hit.

Beautiful location and views. The complex has a homey, old fashioned charm in its gathering of cottages and buildings on the beach.

We loved the laid back island feel of the resort. Access to the beach can’t be beat. Food was delish! We definitely will return next year!!

There are two things that we didn’t like. The first one is that there were either bedbugs or fleas or something that bite us all over the body and we are still super itchy. The second one is that we’ve been mistreated by the hotel staff that was in charge of the umbrellas and chairs at the beach. We were setting up our own umbrella in a very big open space and this person came to us saying that we had to move to the part of the beach that was beside the “hotel beach”. We explained that we were hotel guests and that the beach was almost empty and we were not bothering anyone and he said that we had to move anyway. This made my son feel super uncomfortable and embarrassed and he didn’t want to stay at the beach. This person really turned our beautiful beach day into a horrible day. Later that same day other people came to the same spot where we tried to set up our umbrella and he didn’t say anything and just laughed when I asked why he had kicked us out.

The view from the room was really nice (beach front) and the check in was easy and friendly.

If you’re looking for a slick new upscale place to stay, perhaps not the place for you. If you want a charming, family friendly and personable experience, Tween is the place! Wandering thru the charming cottages and lush vegetation to get to the pool or restaurants makes you feel like you’re in a different era! Love love love!
