Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaBreakfast is boring, same every day.
For Dili, this was a very comfortable place to stay. Clean and spacious rooms with good air conditioning. The staff were lovely and helpful, easy to organise airport pick up and taxis. Rooms cleaned daily and bottled water provided. The wifi was good when it was on - does go off at times (which I think is beyond the hotels control). Good restaurants on the street - Pro Ema, Fatima cafe, Win Myint - and supermarket a few mins walk.

AustraliaThe bed was too small to fit my whole body since my feet when over the edge. A larger size bed would have made my sleep more comfortable.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with information. In addition, the room was very spacious which included a lounge suite.

United StatesThe kitchen just had a one burner set up, so limited the type of cooking I could do. However, it is adequate for one person, and if all you are doing is a small amount of cooking.
This is a great location. A quiet neighborhood with decent restaurants and my favorite cafe (Fatima's) in all of Dili within walking distance. There is also a very good massage/health food spa just a block away. The staff is quite helpful and friendly. Rooms were kept clean. Bed was very comfortable, which for an extended stay is quite important. It is helpful in Dili to have a motobike, for anything out of the neighborhood, however, as it is very hot and walking even short distances can be a challenge. Especially if you want to go to the nicer swimming beach by Christo Rei.

TaiwanAs we had to leave the hotel every morning around 6:50am, we were never able to have the breakfast we paid extra for (except for the last day before leaving Dili). Most places would let us claim a refund or pack a takeaway box for us, but we were offered neither options.
Airport shuttle service is good. Breakfast is pretty good, that is if you get to have it.

AustraliaReception is not obvious from the street front. We couldn't see a sign in English. We found Reception by asking at the restaurant out front.
Quiet, spacious, a good lounge to relax in, TV with a couple of English language channels, several options for eating out are close. Filtered water is available from a tap outside Reception. Transport to airport & ferry terminal included in the room tariff. Questions we put on the Booking.com site were answered promptly. A minor problem with the air con controller was cheerfully & quickly rectified.

CanadaImportant things to note when coming here. Banks do NOT offer foreign exchange. The exchange places, of which there are only a couple, offer terrible exchange rates as they are more like a western union. You should really get US dollars before coming here. The hotel does take VISA. I ate every day at the Eastern restaurant down the street. Good food at reasonable prices. Best to get your sim card at the airport. It was very hot and on arrival at the airport, I walked to the Timor Plaza as I had only carry-on but I was soaked by the time I got there. I did however only pay 3 dollars for the taxi from there. I found out later that these little , older minivans I saw running around were the public transportation that you could take for 50 cents. In East Timor they use the dollar but it seemed 10 dollars is the lowest denomination as they have their own dollar coins. The 100 coin is the dollar coin. Close to the hotel, I took the blue number 12 minivan that took me to the Cristo del Rei. That is between 25 and 50 cents for the ride. All and all my 4 day stay was worth it but do not forget to bring US dollars with you.
I stayed at another property initially when I arrived Dili and it was not what I expected, so after my first night I moved here. I checked out the property the day before and the very helpful staff showed me the room. It was very spacious, clean and modern, so I booked it for my last three nights. It was wonderful. Good A/C, wifi, comfortable bed and streaming services on TV. Nice bathroom and the shower pressure was amazing. There was a small fridge (no freezer) but I was able to get ice when I needed it. The staff was so helpful and my early morning transfer to the airport was also well organized. This was low season so the hotel had a good rate. A little higher than what I budgeted for but it was worth it.
