Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A bit of a walk to the center
What a nice, homely stay! It really felt like you were staying at someone's house. The room was simple but everything you need. The kitchen was spacious. My favorite has to be the staff, the two ladies at the front were so kind and made sure to help us even with our extremely early check-out.

Probably the best stay i have had after visiting over 60 countries - so hospitable and kind - breakfast was amazing and is located in such a nice neighbourhood. Hosts were so helpful with buses and recomendations for Santa Ana 😃

I wanted to wash my hair but the property didn't have a hairdryer, so I couldn't do so.
My booking included a free breakfast which was delicious. The place is a guest house and the owner as well as her relatives were friendly and helpful. The property is a short cab ride from the centre of town, so it is in a good location. Good connection to the internet.

Everything was great!
Great stay! Owner is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very delicious and filling. Drinking water was provided. Rooms were spacious with fan and enough surfaces to place your items. Facilities were clean.

Excellent place, very friendly and welcoming hosts. They had lots of information about tours and help with doing them. I really enjoyed my stay here. Walking distance to restaurants and shops.

Honestly everything was pretty good I don’t really have any complaints.
The the staff were lovely and genuinely made our stay a lot more enjoyable. My partner and I both had food poisoning and they took good care of us. Hot showers and free breakfast was excellent.

Unbeatable value for money. Friendly staff. Only thing is the shower wasn't properly cleaned during the 4 nights I stayed there. Everything else was great, thank you.

The fan in our room was very weak on high. I’m a very warm sleeper and I was quite hot in the room. Lovely place to stay though, really homey and enjoyable. Highly recommend:)

We had a great couple nights at Casa Blanca. The sisters who run the place are very helpfull and prepare a great local breakfast. They washed our clothes for an extremly cheap price and gave us great tips on how to catch the bus to our next destination!

Its a bit of a walk to the center (15min). For us no problem but just that you know!
We had the double room upstairs and it was so nice!! We also had a shared balcony where we had some cosy evenings. The breakfast was really good. The sisters are so nice ❤️

Amy and her sister were the most inviting and great hosts. They made my friend and I feel very comfortable and were always helpful when we asked for advice on different activities and transportation routes. Their place was super clean, breakfast was great and it was in a safe neighbourhood. We loved it so much we came back for another 2 nights! It’s almost a mini Homestay. Do not hesitate to stay here in Santa Ana - the best place to stay in our opinion!

Although the room was private, you could hear everything through the airy walls.
The women who ran the property were absolutely delightful and helpful. The Wi-Fi worked well, the shower was warm, and we loved being served breakfast in the morning. The fan worked well to cool the room. Amazing value!

The best place we have stayed so far. The owners are very friendly and helped us with organizing a trip to the volcano. The price is incredibly low and the service is amazing.
