Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo complaints about the hotel - it was a bit out of the way, but we knew that when we booked it. As we were there for just one night, that was fine - it was a short drive to the cruise terminal which was what mattered.
Very modern, the bed was really comfortable and the room was quiet so we got a very good night’s sleep. Breakfast was also really good.

EgyptThe staff were very unfriendly they refused in rude way to store my luggage ( However I had only one bag and I need to store it only for 4 hours), so I had to carry my luggage and went for the central station searching for a luggage storage.
The room was clean and with good view of the river

Interesting location in reclaimed docks area. Very quiet - well away from busy streets. Not the easiest place to find - website needs a better map. Huge room with huge view. Great breakfast - wide choice, excellent quality. Welcoming staff.

Hong KongNo kettle in room. Housekeeping did not provide us new towels for 4 consecutive nights and we had to go down to reception just to grab new ones. Check-out was slow as there was only one staff and she was also in charge of selling GVB passes. Took us around 10 mins just to check out. Purchasing a bottle of water was also expensive - €3.50 just for a 500mL bottle.
Spacious room and bathroom. Near public transport (8-10 min walk from hotel to direct bus/tram to Dam Square and Amsterdam Central Station). You can also purchase GVB day pass (only 1 or 2-day pass available) at reception.

United KingdomRoom service was patchy. Some days no one came to clean our room and other days they came at 5 in the evening when we had just got back from sightseeing and wanted to get ready to go out for the evening. When I complained we were offered a drinks voucher but really we just wanted our room cleaned every morning while we were out.
Good location by a canal. Bit of a walk to the tram stop but we rented bikes.

SingaporeAt check-in the price did not correspond to the reservation. There is no drinking water in the room, linen and towels stink from old age, in the morning the noise of the drill. In general, the hotel does not correspond to the price and stars.

United StatesYou crushed it, niu Fender. All good memories.
I can't say enough about the niu Fender. It had an intimate feel. EVERYONE was friendly and helpful. We actually found ourselves in ISTANBUL the first night (surprise!) because of airline woes leaving the States, and missed our first night, but they held our rooms ❤️ The building and our rooms were beautiful and clean. We LOVED being on the canal and having a bird's eye view of it. The two outdoor restaurants located behind the niu Fender on the canal were excellent with a wonderful ambience. We spent a lot of time in Centrum during our stay in Amsterdam, but the Oost District, where the Niu Fender is located, was a welcome escape from the energetic city center. We rented bikes for our stay. You can rent them from the niu Fender (but make a reservation ahead of time) or go to a shop about a mile away. Within a mile we rode to great food, coffee, and a fantastic gym to start our day, then biked to and around Centrum along with everyone else! What a great way to experience Amsterdam; like the locals. And the niu Fender is close enough to it all. Thank you, niu Fender. We'll be back!

SpainThe negatives: The lighting is very dim so it’s good for relaxation but there’s no option for a brighter light if you need to see something. There is no phone in the room and hence no room service. Coffee capsules were not replenished. I had to ask the reception everyday for some. Also, the Coffee cups were not changed. I had to clean them myself. There are bugs, spiders, and flies in the room! The ceiling of the room is… I’m not sure how to describe it! Not finished? Like they forgot to paint it? You can see plasters and cracks! But I learnt to ignore it and focus on the beautiful view. The housekeeper did a basic job and toiletries weren’t always replenished.
The positives: We stayed in room 324 which is a corner room overlooking the canal. The room was a superior double and I found it spacious. The bed was comfy and there was a coffee machine on a desk (because it’s a “superior room”). The staff were polite and helpful whenever I needed something. Opposite the reception there is free tap water, apples, pears, and sweeties.

EstoniaBooked the hotel 6 months in advance with no cancellation (price was fixed and guaranteed by my credit card). The hotel requested money from a credit card only 15 minutes before check-in. I made a lot of purchases that day and the limit was exceeded. I paid with another card at the reception, but the hotel demanded an additional payment of 15 euros. Booking support did not respond to my request.
Nice view from the window.

GermanyWe stayed more than a week and the easiest way to get to the central area was using Trams and it took more than 30 mins because of frequent delays; This hotel offers a bike for around 17 euro but there is no seat for kids; The worst thing is... the blanket's cover seems to be not clean for a long time because we found some odor comes from one of the blanket covers. I should have stayed in one of the hotels inside the central areas.....

The hotel is further from the center, but the distance can be covered on foot, and at the same time you can see the city. Clean, well-equipped large room, soft beds, tidy bathroom. There is a parking lot under the hotel, very convenient and good price.

AustraliaThe staff were rude, the daily room cleaning was poor & there are zero facilities for making a coffee in the morning, let alone to get a coffee in the morning (apart from the machine on the ground floor which cost per use)
