Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe music on the roof top was okay but really aggressively loud. We like a music vibe but was too much, there was no escape couldn’t have a conversation. The breakfast could do with a retouch was a little disappointing. The beach clubs that affiliate with the hotel were not great. Do not recommend.
The all inclusive was great. Top range liquor and wine also included on the all inclusive. The roof top food was good the tacos were yummy. The staff also made our time there memorable shout out to Freddy and Paco. The location is great.

United StatesSome but not all of the staff was professional, accommodating, and courteous. The white and Spanish were treated better than the black customers. for instance I went down to eat breakfast first while my husband stay in the hotel room finishing getting ready. I watched the hostess in the dining room while waiting on her to seat me during breakfast help a Spanish female take food out of the dining room by wrapping it in a napkin. When I was finished dining I left and met my husband in the lobby to check out. while waiting for the airport taxi to arrive my husband asked the concierge if he can get his breakfast to go and she said, “yes” Then my husband left to the dining room and asked the hostess if he can take some breakfast food to go she said, “no” you have to seat down and dine”. she gave him a hard time by refusing to accommodate him.”You can’t take food out of the dining room”. My husband felt that the hostess could have been more accommodating.
I liked the cleanliness of the hotel. The Roof top view was breathtaking, with all the amenities. The gourmet all inclusive package was the best part of the stay. you are really getting your money’s worth.

EgyptThe staff weren’t responsive and there was a bit of an attitude of neglect about our requests.
It’s location is perfect for its proximity to 5th Avenue and all that Playa del Carmen downtown has to offer. The view from the roof pool was amazing.

DenmarkThe room seemed humid at all times. Especially the sheets and pillows in the bed. Music was too loud on the rooftop starting at before noon. We couldn’t have a conversation if we were by the pool and had to find some sun beds on the other side of the roof.
Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. The rooftop area was nice. We were there on our honeymoon and the staff made sure we had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries upon arrival which was so sweet! Rooms were huge even for a junior suit.

IsraelWe were on the top floor and had lots of noise from the rooftop bar (until around 23:00), we got dinner in the restaurant and the seating and service were really bad - no-one noticed us for a long time (they only had 2 people working there), long wait and quite expensive. The rooftop bar/pool was packed with people (no free tanning beds)
Big clean rooms, beautiful hotel that is located close to the main 5th avenue. The valet parking was comfortable, the people at the reception were friendly and helped with what we needed. Good value for money overall.

SwitzerlandItalian a la carte choice was poor and the food not gourmet as advertised. The attitude and motivation of the employees in the lobby and breakfast area was barely acceptable, it was one of the worse experience we had. We did not feel welcomed. We were all inklusive guests and had to sign a receipt for every consumption, it was annoying. Some things happened that are unacceptable in our view for a hotel of this level.
The room, breakfast and rooftop. We liked to be able to discover and eat and drink in the other The Reef properties.

United StatesThey offer you a gift which we didn’t know about until the day we had to check out . They also have to better the service for the guests that are staying at the reef and prioritize them on the rooftop . I felt like outside guests had more attention than us .
loved how close it is from the Main Street, it is close to the beach as well . They are also affiliated with 2 other resorts that you can visit if you pay an extra price. The pool is really nice , one jacuzzi wasn’t working which was upsetting because people wouldn’t leave the one that was working. Everyone was really nice , felt safe

United StatesThere is no room service and the restaurants close at 10:30; so after that, you will have to go out to get food! On the rooftop, we did experience long wait times for food and Don Julio tequila wasn’t always available. I did find several of the male severs weren’t very pleasant.
I loved the cleanliness and the warm welcome! The check in was very smooth and the concierge staff was very friendly. I did enjoy that it was adults only so it gives a very grown and sexy vibe. Cocktails were tasty and overall the food was pretty good as well!
