Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had two rooms as our first room was opposite 3 very loud bars which we were unable to sleep with (so double check what side of the hotel you are on!). The staff were friendly and let us switch to the other side however, both rooms were damp. They smelt damp and nothing dried, even the bedding felt a bit damp. Breakfast was classic buffet, not bad but not 5*. Overall, not worth the money when compared to other hotels we've been to.
Incredible staff, truly lovely people. Nice rooftop pool in a good location in Playa del Carmen.

United StatesHaving to pay for small extras. Soon it will be like Vegas charging resort fees etc'. Sometimes the maids didn't leave coffee for the maker the next day. Simple fix by telling front desk. The a la carte restaurants for lunch and dinner can have an exceedingly long wait for your food, even when at very low capacity. Talking hour to hour and half plus. One street next to hotel has a karaoke bar that was super loud.
Large room and bathroom. Pool area nice until the DJ starts. Great rooftop view. A little loud. The people that work there are amazing. Shout out to Israel up front. Good breakfast and good food at the pool. Ability to go enjoy the other properties is great ( used to be included).

GermanyThe staff was an absolute disaster. The employee Amilcar was by far the worst part of the hotel experience. We always had to wait a very long time for our drinks, and even during dinner, it took a long time before we were served. Although there were plenty of available seats, we were told that there were no tables available and that we would have to wait half an hour. If you gave little or no tip, you were treated like a second-class guest, even though we had booked an all-inclusive package. For this, there are truly zero stars.
The hotel was great; it had a fantastic location. The rooms were very large and truly beautiful. The rooftop pool was excellent.

SwitzerlandStaff at the front desk tried to scam us. They told us we could book all inclusive day passes for 55 dollars if we pay right now, otherwise it would be 85 dollars per day. We didn’t buy it but the next day found out that the price is always 55 dollars. Very unprofessional und unacceptable for a hotel of this level and price point.
Beautiful spacious room. Delicious breakfast and an amazing rooftop pool. The cleaning in the rooms was spotless.

United KingdomThere’s not much choice for food in the evenings as it’s only really 2 restaurants (Italian and Asian alternate) so would have been good to have the main buffet in evening too. No complaints otherwise
The room sizes were great, super comfy beds, not much noise. Food in the restaurants and on the rooftop were great. Excellent service from all staff.

CanadaThe downside is that they try to sell you a vacation plan. They take you to breakfast at one of their all-inclusive hotels, and you end up spending almost 2 hours listening to them try to sell you a plan that borders on a pyramid scheme. When you book a hotel, you just want to rest and enjoy your vacation, not have the place you chose to stay at try to sell you unnecessary plans. This seems to be common in all the hotels in the area. **Traveler tip**: Do not accept or pay for anything at the airport or the hotel you're staying at related to these vacation plans.
The hotel is very well located, just one block from 5th Avenue and one block from Mamitas Beach. The staff is wonderful—very respectful, friendly, and kind. We only purchased the breakfast option, and we could choose between the Mexican restaurant with a delicious menu or the buffet, which offers plenty of delicious options, including fresh fruit. I am allergic to gluten, and I would have liked the buffet, being part of a 4-star hotel, to have more gluten-free bakery options. They only offered a small slice of bread and a muffin. It has a rooftop with a pool and good music.

LithuaniaThere was a really loud sound at night from ventilation system in the room. I assume due to the fact that air con system is old. My husband went to reception (he speaks Spanish) 3 times at night. The people working in reception first two times lied to him about sending people to fix ir or turning it off soon. So not a very rehearsed lie :) the third person finally offered to switch rooms. So not sure why the staff felt the need to lie. Hence not a perfect rating from us.
The location is great, we were able to explore the city on foot. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool at the rooftop was nice.

NetherlandsThe smell of the rooms it was a bit moldy. The bathroom was not very well cleaned. They were doing some maintenance on the rooftop, not nice for people who were there trying to enjoy sun.
The property has a good location, even though the streets can be noisy, but we got a room where we couldn’t hear the noise. The food was amazing. Room very spacious.

BulgariaAlthough the location seems to be quiet on the map and upon arrival, there were several bars exactly across the street that were extremely noisy, so I was forced to sleep with ear-plugs - which is extremely rare for me. Music just went on long after midnight. Reception staff was relatively slow.
Hotel rooms were very spacious - enough drawers and a large wardrobe to fit luggage even for a longer stay. Breakfast was relatively rich and staff brought quickly food that went missing. Rooms were clean. Location - convenient between the beach and Quinta Avenida (the main pedestrian street).

IsraelThe staff is a bit slow, we could wait a while for water, same for cocktails etc, the we waited even longer, might be human resources problem, since almost all of them worked all the time. The breakfast and Italian restaurant is in the hotel center with open ceiling to all the floors, so all the noise comes up. The bed was dirty when we arrived with sand, and needed linen change. The shower and toilets had bad smell of sewerage, when the door left open all the room smells like that. And the soap needed a change too, since it smelled like mold.
The hotel has beautiful modern design, the rooftop is really nice with a great view - the pictures do not flatter the hotel. We felt it was better in person. The food!!! You can only dream of having great quality food and alcohol in all inclusive, and it was beyond our expectations. A lot of verity on the menus, from snacks to the restaurants and breakfast. Only the breakfast was a buffet and the rest was ‘a la carte’ we really enjoyed the Italian and Asian restaurant, however the Mexican felt less varied than the rest. The staff were nice. The eco friendly water fountain was a really nice touch in every floor.
