It was exactly what we were looking for. We were able to book it at a discount so that slightly colours our view but we did add an extra night on at full price as we enjoyed it. It is one street away from one of the main roads so we liked the quiet road it was on relatively. We are walking people and enjoyed walking to the other main streets. The roads are crazy so I’d never get a taxi or bike here so some may feel a bit too far from some places but was great for us. There were enough cafes and bars and restaurants within 10 minutes walk tho if we wanted to get something quick. The room was quiet. Good internet. Good vibe.

At times the Wifi didn't work in the room. I had to go down to the lobby to have fast-speed internet.

The hotel was amazing, super modern, really cool facilities with a pool on the lower floor and a rooftop pool. The room is very spacious and all furniture is beautiful and stylish. Breakfast was also super tasty. Perfect location, walking distance to everything, and great staff!

Room smelled musty. Neighborhood is still under construction, they were building sidewalks when we were there. A bit far from Canggu’s main restaurant area.

Great location if you want to spend time at La Brisa beach club or surf Echo Beach, walking distance no traffic! Hotel is simple, clean, modern, great common areas and staff were so friendly. Roof pool space is amazing!

On the downside, there were several disappointments. The hotel charged a 2.5% fee for card payments, which felt unnecessary. My check-in experience was marred by a delay; my room was not ready until an hour after the designated time. One notable inconvenience was the restriction on bringing personal drinks and food to the lounge and rooftop pool. While this rule was in place, it seemed inconsistently enforced. The on-site dining options were mediocre and overpriced, especially considering the availability of better food at nearby restaurants. The hotel’s claim to be a co-work location was not supported by the unreliable and slow Wi-Fi, making it unsuitable for remote work. The bathroom’s open-design shower led to a perpetually wet floor, including the toilet area, making it impractical. Furthermore, the rooftop pool area and its seating were in need of maintenance. Stained pillows and sun damage were visible, detracting from the overall experience. The rooftop bar, while present, lacked sufficient staff presence, necessitating trips downstairs to place orders or relying on communication through WhatsApp. The QR code on the fridge meant for menu browsing didn’t work . The hotel did not replenish the two complimentary water bottles in the room, so you had to refill them in the lobby.

During my stay at this hotel, I experienced a mix of positives and negatives. On the bright side, the staff greeted me warmly with a complimentary drink upon arrival, and their friendliness and willingness to assist were remarkable. The hotel’s open lobby, complete with an outdoor pool and comfortable seating, created a welcoming atmosphere. I appreciated the flexibility to order food and drinks from the menu throughout the day, providing convenience for guests. The rooftop swimming pool was a highlight, offering a relaxing escape with showers and comfortable lounge beds. The presence of readily available pool towels added to the convenience. However, the overall location of the hotel was a drawback, situated at the end of a somewhat questionable street surrounded by inhabited buildings and ongoing construction. Additionally, the nearby stores were of low quality, giving a less appealing ambiance to the surroundings. When it came to the room, while the beds were comfortable, the size was just okay, and I felt I could have found better options for the same price. The room did come equipped with essential amenities such as air conditioning, a mini-fridge, two complimentary water bottles, and a safe for valuables. Housekeeping services were provided daily, ensuring a tidy space.

- Shower screen is very small and doesn’t prevent water from getting all over the bathroom - WiFi connection is bad. Not only the speed is slow, but on my laptop wifi got disconnected about every 10 minutes. It worked fine on my phone though. - Food at the restaurant was bad. I ordered a breakfast burrito and I got a tortilla folded in half with scrambled egg in between and some tomato paste and mozzarella on top. It looked like a mini pizza, but it tasted neither like a pizza nor like a burrito. Ordered a salad, it turned out to be mostly big coarse slices of onion, and some lettuce, avocado and mango, plus pumpkin seeds and raisins?? Those don’t go together! Grilled prawns did not taste great, more like if they were boiled, maybe just weren’t fresh. The restaurant has so much potential to be great if only the owner took better care of the menu/chef.

The beds are not comfortable, we're also tried to be charged for having something off the mini fridge (which we did not) it all got sorted but delayed out check out waiting for this to be checked etc.

The rooftop is very relaxing and stunning. The staff were also very friendly.

Other reviews mentioned the smell coming from the bathroom, we also noticed it in the first couple of days. Only provided one room key. Expensive breakfast compared to other hotels nearby.

The construction site in front of our room was really loud, even during the night and there was only a small shower wall, so when we showered there was water everywhere.

We liked how clean the Surf Motel and our room was, also the room was really comfortable. The pool area on the roof is great and it is just a short walk to the beach. Also the food was really good.

I hated the shower setup. There was not enough separation between the shower and the rest of the bathroom so there ended up being standing water in front of the toilet and housekeeping did not bother to mop it up or provide enough towels to do it myself.

Great location. So close to the beach. Breakfast was also very good. Beautiful facilities (downstairs lobby, rooftop area)
