Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThere not many options for booking at Georgetown. The only thing didn’t like, there was no hot shower there is the a/c. But there is a fan..
Julian was very friendly. The location was great. There is grocery 5 min walk and farmers market 2 min away. The city was very safe overall. There was a refrigerator. The WiFi worked great. I really liked Georgetown overall.

GermanyThe room was not exactly clean and the price to high for what you get. But again, the prices are a Guyana problem. It didn't help that there was a karaoke party on Friday, but I was warned and it stopped at midnight. So all in all it was more or less as I had expected it.
Julians is a low end guest house in Georgetown. This sounds bad, but you have to know that in Guyana you either go all in and hit the high end or you stick to the cheapos and then get the low end. The country has an inflation problem that blows up prices and no tourist industry, so choices are limited. With this background, Julians was OK. It is located in the middle of all sights (Botanical Garden, National Park, Center), has a bar, and you can find some food and supermarkets around. Julian can explain everything to you, he is a nice guy.

JamaicaI stayed in a backpackers room and it wasn't that comfortable... The mattress is worn out, the face basin is tilting down, the ceiling and walls are dusty, the place smells old but that's understandable due to the type of infrastructure. The place needs a little refurbishing though, just to make it appears more comfortable... The construction is poor
I like that it is situated in a decent area where you could get access to food. The staff is great. The water and WiFi are always accessible. The toilet and shower are in good condition. The place is secure

AustraliaThe room was hot - the window opened onto a busy alley so the curtain needed to be pulled shut which stopped any breeze coming in. Also the bathroom seemed partially renovated - the water connection to the toilet was loose, the shower knob had come off, and there were large grooves and a hole in the floor instead of a grate over a drain.
Price, location, security. The owner was readily available to fix maintenance issues and answer questions.

FinlandToilet flushing did not work at all times, you needed to try to flush it several times until it worked. When I arrived there was a huge cockroach in the bathroom, but with the help of the trash bin I was able to throw it outside.
I didn't have high expectations as I read the previous reviews. The room was good size, had mosquito net on top of the bed. Had a table, chair and a fan. Could have been a bit cleaner but was okay for the few nights. Overall the stay was okay.

United KingdomThe room was extremely basic and the bed was essentially a foam “mattress” on some makeshift planks of wood. You could feel the boards every time you tried to sleep. The water pressure was also very poor so difficult to wash your hair.
The location was central and the main city sites are in walking distance. It was secure.

The Guesthouse has a great central location, near, street markets, supermarkets, restaurants, shopping mall and banks. It´s also very short walking distance from most of the sightseeings in the city. The room was very basic but ok fora short term stay. The staff helped me with all the information I needed and called a taxi for me to go to the airport.

CanadaHad some noisy Cubians in the room beside mine for the 5 days of my 7days visit.... karaoke singing day & nigh...& super loud TV... had a chat with the owner & was moved to a different room on the same floor with empty rooms both sides of me...... My holidays was from October 8th-27th & was thinking of extending my stay there by another week but I decided not to...& made other arrangements. Great Location/external surroundings/ quiet externally... the price was affordable if u don't wanna spend your money on just accommodations 👍🏾 The owner Julian is very friendly & accommodating as much as he can🙏🏽🙏🏽.. The place needs some upgrades & ground rules needs to be clearly defined. Cheers
The hardwood lacquered floors in the hallways should be carpeted instead because it's noisy & can be heard when anyone is walking through the hallways & not a good experience when you're super tired & trying to get a good night's sleep from the eventful day..... the Walls needs to be sound proofed...& the doors @ the bottom needs to be sealed which will help with to reduce the noise..
