Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSomeone was sleeping in my bed when I arrived. No ventilation in room which led to smell. Rooms are very light due to a window from the kitchen. Men’s showers did not always work. Management didn’t pick up their phone when we tried to call. No surveillance and availability from staff.
Location to Anfield was great. The bar was really good.

United KingdomThere was no toilet in the room. No table and chair in the room, so you can sit while getting changed for bed. No communication with a representative of the Hostel,
There was no breakfast available. There is no toilet in the rooms and the door on the dorm is combination. When I arrived, I rang the 0151 number on the door, to find out some help, and was greeted with an obnoxious person on the other end, as if I was intruding, and felt, if that's the greeting you get, God knows what the place will be like.

United Kingdomabsolutely disgusting place Bugs bugs bugs everywhere. They don't wash bed sheets frequently. 6 beds in 2×3 meters room with small window open to the kitchen. disgusting Guests smoke weeds and sniff cocaine in rooms. One dirty bathroom for 24 person so in the morning u have to wait nearly an hour to take a shower. I lost some personal items there when I reported that to the stuff they didn't care !!! No privacy at all and stuff doesn't knock doors before they enter. No fresh air at all, bad smell everywhere, no cooker ,no oven, my food was stolen from the fridge, the microwave has stopped working for days. The entire area is not safe, poverty, old houses and alot of racists people around .
I stayed there for 2 weeks because my house was been refurbished Nothing really, it's a place for homeless people and drug addicts. One of the guests tried to sell me weeds . You have to tip the stuff for everything you want otherwise, you will get nothing. it's very close to Anfield Stadium, but I don't recommend it for weekend stay especially for ladies and tourists.

United StatesThe bathrooms and bedroom was filthy. They don’t clean often enough and you need to bring your own toilet paper because you’ll often find there is none. The internet is janky so don’t expect too use WiFi. There’s only a mini fridge and microwave for use but the “clean” dishes were dirty. Don’t think about going to the pub because it didn’t open and when it food, they only opened for about 2 hours.
The ONLY thing I liked was that the bed was comfortable. Convenient location to teach the city center by bus.

IrelandBasil Fawlty would have overwhelming material for Fawlty Hostels from this place. (a) No indication on Booking.com that it was coded entry. My Irish phone didn't work in UK so I had to shout to a guest to let me in. I tried phoning the number on the door but no reply after 9 attempts. (b) A bedroom door would not open from inside and two guests got locked inside the room. Phoned the hostel but nothing done. They panicked and shouted and after one hour the door opened. Was going to phone fire brigade. (c)Staff member removed two squatters at 8pm. Later new squatters moved in and became very argumentative. I tried phoning the number of the hostel but got no response. They left later. I could not sleep all night. (d) Not even a mirror or toilet paper in the 1 bathroom. (e) I have travelled all over Europe and stayed in hostels and have given good reviews as can be seen on Booking.com but this place was the worst. (f) The owners will try and say that it was being renovated etc.but just platitudes.
Nightmare, Nothing.
