Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThis place was the best experience we had in Fiji. The Staff were so friendly, accommodating and attentive and always made you feel welcome. The rooms were spacious and cleaned multiple times throughout the day. Activities were organised and plentiful so there was always something to do and the food options were amazing. I couldn’t recommend this resort any more and 100% will be coming back.

AustraliaNothing i didn’t like, the only thing i think needs improvements is the food being a little bit hotter, but that’s not a big issue as the food was still lovely
The people were so lovely and welcoming, i stayed for my birthday as my partner took me, the night of my birthday Zac made sure the group of people came out playing guitars singing happy birthday to me. i didn’t even ask for this Zac did this out the kindness of his heart and it truly was so nice. I also went snorkeling with one other man i can’t remember his name but he made me feel so safe and made sure my experience was fun.

AustraliaWe loved everything - however large groups/ families really need to be aware, considerate and respectful of others ( guests, staff and residents alike) on what is a small island.
The people, the ambience, the lovely food & beverages, choice of activities.

JapanIf the only possible way to reach the resort is by private boat, it should be clearly mentioned at the moment of booking and not after, especially if it’s a paid service (at more than 100USD per person). Also, if breakfast is 42FJD, lunch is 57FJD, and dinner is 78FJD, half board should not be 140FJD in any case. Wifi is not free. The free option does hardly connect the router. Then there’s a paid option at 5FJD per day, which allows only one device to connect. Not one device at a time, but one registered device per pass (something that is mentioned nowhere). So if you need to work or just send messages and check things online you need at least two passes per day. Transparency is a must in this business. To the very last penny. No matter the budget.
The location is perfect. The pictures show exactly what you’ll get when you book. The staff were very friendly. The activities they provide are well thought and generally very well organised.

AustraliaWe loved everything! We thoroughly enjoyed the reef golf and would love to see it have a bit of a spruce up, like some flag poles on the golf holes.
Toberua is a truly special island, from the moment you step on there’s a very special energy and you feel yourself relaxing already. We went for my 30th birthday (and a surprise proposal) and the staff went above and beyond to help my fiancé organise a birthday surprise and a very romantic proposal during a private dining experience on the pier. Pip and Nick were very accomodating and great to chat to. Big shout out to Merri at the office that helped us with our every need. All the staff were amazing and so warm and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed all the day activities, in particular Picnic Island and the visit to the local school. Our Bure was so comfortable and special and we loved our lazy afternoons lying in our hammock with the best view in the world.

New ZealandNothing! Bad free WiFi and no TV (which would be a minus for some) was actually a huge plus so hope they stay that way!
Beautiful island resort with thoughtful touches throughout, lots of fun activities on offer and friendly staff. Food was also great and the staff were very accommodating around all our requests. Kids loved everything on offer (including the opp to play with other kids!)

AustraliaI cannot think of negatives here, when I think back to this happy place to be. Toberua Island resort is all about the positive best.
Absolutely everything was beautiful and well run and charming. Peaceful ambiance without power tools and traffic. Island peace at it’s loveliest. The community and staff so warm and cheerful and genuine. The meals an absolute treat, with an abundance of fresh fruit and emphasis on delicious fish meal. Tasty and inventive.

AustraliaThe quality of the beach at the resort is very poor, but picnic island is very beautiful, white sandy beach, very clean, isolated island. Most importantly, we spent far more than expected here as all activities and accommodation at the hotel are charged extra, including transfers to reach the island, which are very expensive, we stayed 4 nights and the extra cost was almost as much as the accommodation. This was a little disappointing as we could have chosen a better place to vacation after accounting for the extra costs. Value for money was on low side.
Overall it was very nice, the location of the resort was fantastic, the atmosphere on the island was relaxing and the aborigines were all very simple and kind. But on our last two days two families with lots of kids went on the island and after that it became very noisy and the screaming kids will put you in a bad mood.

New ZealandBeware of noise - very noisy at times especially near the pool area at the centre of the resort, as there were 2 families with 5 children (aged between 3-10) travelling as a group. This was an issue for most guests and best if the resort can make it child free (or at least without children aged 3-12) to ensure peace and tranquility for all.
Amazing premium bure right on the beach. Excellent food and a good range of activities.

United StatesWe give this resort 10 stars for the attentive staff, delicious and plentiful food, abundance of activities and opportunities to completely relax. We have traveled to (and lived on) many tropical islands and Fiji is hands-down our favorite. Toberua had everything we were looking for in travel with our young-adult twins. One of them needed a doctor a few days into our trip, and before we knew it, staff were accompanying us back to the mainland and personally escorted us to a doctor within minutes. Our other twin received her dive certification from the dive shop located steps from our bure. What a memorable experience as we were then able to dive together as a family. The food was plentiful and delicious, as was the live entertainment. We really enjoyed having paddle boards, kayaks and a catamaran that we could use any time the conditions were right (most of the time). The boat ride through the mangroves to get to the island is so beautiful and unexpected. We cannot say enough about this amazing place. Pip and Nick (resort managers) are wonderful!

AustraliaThe property is old, could do with some modernisation here and there. But the bures do have charm. The food was okay. Breakfast was the same every day so got a little monotonous.
Quiet island so very relaxing. Beautiful views of the ocean from the balcony. The staff were friendly. The weather wasn’t great for us but they try to put on as many activities as possible even in bad weather. Selection of wine was fab and really great prices. The spa was lovely and affordable. The highlight of my whole trip was going to the local village that Toberua put on for guests, it was fabulous.
