We booked a twin room but an air conditioning unit outside was making a humming noise all night. Took a while to work out how to get the shower going - maybe some instructions on the wall on how to use this.

Convenient location, only 15mins drive to the airport. Clean and affordable accommodation in a vibrant area close to the beach, with many options for eating. Staff were helpful. Twin room was tired looking but had a fan and beds were comfortable.

Shower had no hot water at all. The temperature was good, but early morning and late in the day was colder and warm shower wouldn't be much to ask!

The pod was decent for its price. Not much space but manageable.

I stayed at this hostel for five nights and had a wonderful experience. I’d especially like to thank Mary at the front desk — her kindness and warmth truly made us feel at home. The area it's in is quite noisy and music was playing until around midnight - for me this was not ideal as I'd arrived late so wanted to get some rest. Ladder to the top bunk in the pod room was also not fun.

Check in was smooth and staff were friendly. The bed was comfy and I slept well

I would like more shading over the sun chairs and there is too much bare dirt in the grounds.

The staff are lovely and I am able to book a private room with its own bathroom with aircon.

The showers didn't have any hot water, and there was no designated drinking tap, I ended up using the bathroom sinks for water. If there were mats leading into each of the rooms it would be amazing as dirt traveled in so easily, and got messy.

The room was amazing, I stayed in the pod accommodation, the best - sooo comfy. The air con was great, I'd hate to go without it again. The space in the pod was so nice. The staff great, location was great lots of taxis and restaurants around, I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. The lady at the reception booked a taxi for my 20FJD, even after I screwed up she was so kind and accommodating. So friendly! Oh my goodness friendly.

2nd safest place to sleep in fiji. 1st is prison where nobody can steal something from you or hurt you. bamboo is same because police control point is 24 h/d in front. but from bamboo you can get in out when you want. and every night free kava and live guitar.

I think being my own fault, paying $70 for a twin room was a little much but I'm at fault as I'm used to being in a pod room. A room at this price should be air-condition considering the humid conditions for my stay. Having a oscillating fan on the wall doesn't really serve the purpose.

The proximity to the beach and other facilities in Wailoaloa Beach are great. The staff were friendly and helpful as usual.

Tex & her lovely crew create such a comfortable & kind environment. Each day inviting anyone and everyone to join them in the Kava Ceremony. Bringing so many traveller's together to break the ice & share stories. Throughout the time around the kava bowl there is so much singing done by Tex & the fellow staff. This is something I will remember & cherish moving forward and I found myself humming constantly as I think of each of their beautiful voices. There are also a variety of local activities offered like a tour to natadola beach, etc. This is great for guests who have not rented a car! Overall we are incredibly grateful for our time at bamboo backpackers & it all comes back to the wonderful staff. Vinaka!! Jess & Jake.

In the heart of Wailoaloa, just opposite the beach with nice bars and restaurants on the beach. Clean budget room with fans, making the location very affordable
