How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The noise from outside. We prefer fresh air and the noise from outside was impossible to even crack the window open.

It was the most affordable place at this location but still expensive for one night (not modern, basic equipment...), especially if you compare with other places in Andalucia. It met its purpose (one short night at this location) but it is not a "nice place".
We were two and got one bedroom for 3 people, so it was spacious for us. Very good location and we had a quiet night. We chose this place as it was the most affordable at this location (close to train & bus station) for a short night and it has a 24/24 hours reception (very late flight arrival). Cafés nearby for breakfast

room sound proofness is not good, a lady next door talk loudly all night and till 1:30am and i need geting up at 6am! very frustrating, i can hear everything from her like next to my head!

Nothing could have been better, given the price in comparison with hotels in the area.
Accommodation in Malaga is now generally very expensive, but in comparison, the pension was good value for money while offering facilities as good as many hotels. Also, the location is excellent, but local shops, cafes, bars and restaurants primarily meet the needs of local people.

Our room was just in the entrance section of the hostal,so a little bit of people sound came through,the bathroom was basic,but clean and everything worked!
Clean,comfortable beds,easy location,close to the train station and historic centre of Malaga.The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room full of humidity. I used the air conditioner to dry the space because even the flor was sticky. One of my days waited until 14:30 to get cleaned my room.
There is always someone to help you in case it's needed. Clean rooms and towels

We have stayed numerous times over the years . The location is great, staff always friendly and accommodating, 24 hour check in always a bonus in these unpredictable times.

Dark with little daylight because the room was on the inside of a block with just a dark atrium inside. Very basic tiny TV no fridge etc

The bed is too soft for my liking, so if you’re a firm bed type of person, maybe you'd prefer a different place.
The staff is very welcoming and attentive. I loved the location.

Slightly difficult with trying to change room over the phone and my poor Spanish and receptionist poor English...but with a laugh we both achieved what wanted!

There was very little not to like, as long as your expectations are not high. Good place to get a good nights sleep
Perfect for a short stay, and the staff very welcoming, it is in a very good area with a lot to do locally and perfect for the city centre

An option for a different pillow would be nice but it wasn't the worst.
Great location for the train station and and the airport shuttle, plus nice restaurants and cafes right at your feet. Friendly staff and 24 hr reception. Great aircon! Bed was surprisingly comfortable memory foam.

Shower curtain clinging to body with pressure from shower. Shower screen would work better
Great location, quiet even though it is a busy area near the bus station. It even had a balcony. Very clean, super comfy beds. We had a really good sleep. We would go back if visiting this area again Highly recommended
