How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Beware of "Town View Hotel". If they try to move you there, it sucks, ask for a huge discount or insist to stay at "Town Hotel" for the same price or demand your room at Up Town Hotel. They do not clean and tidy the room, unless you ask and the lift might be out of order due to electricity outage so be prepared for a huge climb to the 5th floor through floors that are under renovation!
I never stayed at this hotel this time as when I arrived with my family, they said they did not have a roon and that we have to stay at their "sister hotel". This happens to me everytime with this hotel but this time we stayed at Town Hotel (which is far superior than Up Town Hotel although a little less central close to Intercontinental Semiramis (there is a nice mini mall there) and thank God not the dreaded Town View Hotel. From previous stay, I will say that they have upgraded the entrance to the building and I hope they have done the same with the terrace where they serve breakfast. Surely that terrace will not be warm in winter. Beds were nice, it was clean, with a nice view to Tahrir Square (other rooms had back side view and sucked big time). The breakfast was ok and balanced, nothing lush.

i had a wonderful stay at Up Town Hotel Cairo the rooms have recently been renovated and are truly beautiful their breakfast is good the stuff are friendly and the location is great Mr kyrillos he mad a perfect program for tous pyramids and white and black desert and alexandria tous also thanks for everything

Very hard to know! Ticked all my boxes.
Breakfast nice - staff super. Lovely quiet room, despite being right in the centre of Cairo! So close to the wonderful Egyptian Museum and lots of shops adjacent to the hotel.

The balcony window didn't shut off properly, you can hear street horns all day. The room I got was a bit small. Room cleaning and towels replacement are not done in the morning. You have to request it in the mornings. There was one super small soap. Not much tissues (you have to ask for more). Again, you get what you pay for. Overall was a good stay.
Location is super good. Exactly on Meydan Al Tahrir. It's a great value for money. You get what you pay for. It's a 3 star hotel. It does the job. Staff are friendly and helpful. Wasn't expecting a lot. Because i didn't pay much.

They are having construction around the stairs area, maybe due to improvement but it got a little dirty on the common area. Also the area is super busy, the honk of all the cars are nonstop. I suggest to get quiet room, but even the quiet room you can hear them. They stop around midnight.
The beds were comfortable enough and it is in front of City Center and near Cairo Museum. I like that you can go up to the rooftop and see the view of Tahrir Square from there. Especially early in the morning when there aren’t a lot of honking cars yet.

Nothing major, just be aware that the lively area outside might not suit someone looking for total quiet.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Tahrir Square. If you miss the hustle and bustle of Cairo, you’ll love it here! I requested a room with a balcony and they made sure I got it. They also have inner rooms if you prefer less noise. The rooftop is a great spot with a beautiful night view of the square, and perfect to host your guests. Big thanks to kirollos for his classy attitude and quick responses!

duvet and pillows without cover. if you bring your own covers that would be great.
The location of the Hotel is in DOWNTOWN CAIRO, footsteps away from multiple historical squares. nice roof with a view on tahrir square, with some rooms with the same view but noisy. i personally chose a room with now view but quiet. special thanks to the entire reception team, specially Romany, a guy down to earth and very welcoming and there to help always.

Poor breakfast and the toilet in the room need change or to fix it. Also we didn't have shampoo only soap.

Drilling until about 9pm the first night I was there and very loud noise.
The room was very spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Carlos working at the reception was the friendliest of all the staff. The location is very good.
