A little dated, but well appointed. Small elevator.

Room 518 corner inside the “onion” larger than average with bathtub and shower. A little dated furniture and needing remodel. Was well kept and clean. Staff very helpful. Train across street. Minutes from center. Close to everything. Brake fast was great. They bring you things not on buffet, like fried eggs and capuchino. Brake fast location on balcony view with flowers. Great atmosphere.

The breakfast room and food was one of the best of 5 or 6 4 and 5 star hotels we stayed in on this trip. The location is perfect, right near Marienplatz, the main train station and lot of restaurants , shopping, tourist buses, taxis, U and S Bahn.

Location was perfect -- within 5 or 10 minutes of all the major sights and food spots. Our suite was elegant - more than we had anticipated. Staff was very kind and efficient with check-in and out. Would stay here again!

We did have an unfortunate encounter with the evening reception person which I tried to not impact my overall ratings but did effect our stay. After two weeks traveling through Germany and Switzerland, in the unexpected heat, we were excited about finally having a hotel with air conditioning since we stayed in small quaint and historic inns until we reached Munich. The room was fantastic when we arrived and unpacked enjoying the coolness of the room. We went to dinner and returned to a room that was hot. We had not touched the thermostat or opened the window. I called the front desk and explained exactly that to him. He responded back to me, are you speaking about the ac? I said it's hot so yes, I guess I am. He asked the typical questions and hesitantly sent up, "his colleague". I could tell then that it would not go well. The gentleman arrived quickly, came into the room, went straight to the window and felt the air which was cool coming out of the vent. He said, it's cool. I said yes, but the room is hot. He said do you want a new room? I said yes, if it can't be fixed. He went downstairs and came back and said we have a room down the hall. We had booked a superior room. As soon as I stepped into that room, I knew it was not the same category and I told him that it would not work, it was smaller and dark. He did not seem surprised in my response which spoke alot. He said I will return. I decided to go down myself to speed up the process and spoke to the man since the maintenance man had come up twice and actually admitted to me that the room was hot. We travel alot, many countries and within the US and I have never been spoken to like he spoke to me and so argumentative. He was placing the blame on us like we were not intellectual people. He made comments that it's summer and it's going to be warm. He didn't even listen to me that the room was cool when we arrived.

This is a lovely hotel in a great location. The young lady who checked us in was very kind and changed our assigned room since it was ready to accommodate us arriving before check-in time, which we appreciated. We enjoyed the bar and sat both inside and on the patio. Very professional bartenders.

The breakfast was good, but a hotel like Torbräu should offer better. It's a problem that the breakfast dishes remain the same every day, with no variation from one day to the next.

The staff is impeccable, very polite, and particularly helpful. The cleanliness is exemplary. The location is strategic.

Torbrau is a fantastic hotel, 5 minutes walk from Marienplatz, with loads of bars and restaurants on the doorstep. The rooms are big with everything you need - the complimentary soft drinks, beers and chocolates restocked daily in the fridge is a nice extra touch. Breakfast is fresh and plentiful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This hotel is the perfect choice if you are planning a trip to the beautiful city of Munich.
