The owner sent very clear description of where the place is, both in Chinese and English so it was no problem to find the way there. I stayed at a private room, but the owner was so nice, he recommended me all the places to go to, and went out for dinner with me and showed me the city at night. There were not many people there when I arrived, which meant that it was a bit more difficult to socialize as a solo traveler. But the owner did everything he could to make my time there very pleasant.

The hostel is small but nice and comfortable. They cannot offer breakfast, but they can prepare hot drinks and cappuccino is excellent. The hotel is located in a not touristic area where there are several shops and local restaurants where you can buy everything that you like for your meals. My "10+" rating goes to Jerry, the hotel manager who speaks an excellent English and was extremely kind with us, supportive for any request including the booking of taxi and of the cruise on Lee river. He also spent some time with us walking in Guelin, while taking pictures and chatting about Guilin.

I was surprised by how the owner was kind with me and my colleague who stayed in this hostel for 2 weeks to visit Guilin. He always replied fast the days before our arrival and solved all our doubts. He helped us arranging the boat tour on Li River taking care of everything (reservation / taxi / suggestions for the time to be spent there). The second day he brought the two of us in the city center speding few hours with us, telling us about the city and his life and taking beautiful pictures he sent to us as a special gift. It was amazing and unexpected. During the whole stay he was always open to help us and make us feeling like staying at home, for example by sharing the position of a Western Bakery for breakfast or what to eat locally. It was a very nice stay I will always remember. Thank you!

All is excellent. Exceeded my expectations. Great value for money. Even if it was much higher, still would have been excellent and great value for money. Quite, good internet speed, large bet, excellent host. There is nice coffee in the hotel, which is also a nice bonus. The staff was very helpful to me as a foreigner, and helped have an amazing experience. If you are looking for a hotel or a place to stay in Guilin, look no further.

This hotel was in an excellent location close to all the attractions. They provided lovely coffee in the mornings and whenever you needed it. It was very comfortable and I had a great night sleep. The staff were absolutely incredible. They were so helpful and they helped us book tours and the boat trip. They added us on WeChat so that if we had any questions after we left the property they would help us. They provided a driver for us too. I had an issue with my window not closing in my room and immediately came and fixed it.

I travelled in December and the temperature was quite cool - the hostel itself isn’t cold but I do recommend bringing warm clothes to sleep in if you travel in winter.

I really enjoyed my stay at Travel Light Hostel, the hostel design was clean and modern, and the room and facilities felt well cared for. The hostel is off the main streets/slightly out of the centre, but you can easily walk (20mins) or taxi (10rmb) to the four lakes area. Jerry was super helpful and I appreciated his recommendations on where and where not to go, as well as his help with booking tours and taxis. Recommend this hostel for a chill time in Guilin!

Jerry, the manager of the hotel, was so helpful since we got in touch with him. he recommended the places to see in Guilin and also tips on how to get to longji and Xingping. the room was very clean and comfy, he even upgraded us for frew and offered us the best coffee we had in Guilin! checking in was a breeze and location is central.

The hotel's location was spot on. Almost everything was far from 10 to 20 minutes, if you took a walk. The hostel was great and clean. Jerry was very helpful, he assissted in everything, from explaining in details how to get to the hotel to helping find a place to do test and showing some of the things to see around.

Unfortunately, the room was not clean and appeared very run-down. The furniture and facilities were in poor condition, and the elevator looked like it hadn’t been maintained in years. Most concerning was the presence of black mold throughout the bathroom. Due to health concerns, we decided to check out after just one night.

The staff was the only positive aspect of our stay — they were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and professional throughout.

Pictures are accurate but very old, the rooms are clean but run down. The tour booked for the rice terrace was nice but the driver suggested mid trip to go to another rice terrace without clearly explaining that we would need to pay an extra 55 CNY each, not as entry fee to the village, but directly to him to drive us there. This was explained only after we finished the tour and were dropped off at the inn. Considering the tour had all transport and entry tickets included this felt inappropriate, out of the 8 people on the tour all of us were surprised and upset by this, so it was not a translation issue.

The room (and building) is much older and smaller than it looks from photos. A toilet almost doesn't work. They offer overpriced cruises (not their own, tho).

Great value for the money, evening girls on reception spoke English (rare thing). You can pay in parts to avoid Alipay charges.
