How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The scrambled eggs in the buffet looked under cooked and watery so we didn't try them but the hard boiled eggs were fine. The buffet was really well provisioned otherwise and there were many other options. There is no shower in the pool and it wasn't apparent where guests were expected to shower, although there was signage indicating that bathers should shower before entering the pool/hot tub.
From welcome to goodbye, the staff people were great, always helpful, always friendly. The pool was clean and well maintained. The buffet breakfast was excellent value for money, with a wide range of choices, suitable for anyone and the wait staff were super, friendly and efficient. the room was comfortable and quiet and the hotel location was perfect for downtown activities like attending concerts or sports events.

We had trouble with flushing the toilet that wasn’t fixed until we complained a second time.
Most of the staff were very nice and we liked the pool.

There was a bit of a musty smell in the room and the bathroom needs more towel bars. The toilet roll holder was loose and crooked , therefore the toilet roll would fall on the floor.
The location was brilliant, steps away from Union Station, yet much quieter than right around Union Station. Beds were super comfortable and I loved the walk in shower. Airco worked well and was quiet.

Maybe more expensive that some of our other accommodation but the Novotel delivered on everything. Location was perfect for exploring Toronto, Hotel Staff very helpful, Room very comfortable.

Well laid out and easy to maneuver for someone with physical limitations. Was able to park near elevator, ice machine was close and pool was easily accessible.

It was expensive - the highest price we paid on a 4 week trip across Canada. The fees for late checkout were excessive.

Nothing really, could not fault the place or the staff. Made our break really good.
The rooms are great, beds comfy. The location is really good for getting around Toronto. Its in a nice area, close to everything.

A little far from public transportation. Water pressure needed some work as it was very weak.
Across the street from three very good and well priced resturants/pubs and a 5 minute walk to St. Lawrence Market and other really amazing bars/resturants on Front Street. The indoor pool and hot tub were so relaxing after a long day of walking. Staff was friendly, room was so comfortable, spacious, and clean.

There was quite a wait to check in which was unnecessary as there was only one person in front of us. He was obviously being difficult to deal with but it seemed there was only one staff member at reception until the Manager arrived and she didn't seem particularly concerned about checking us in. She was however happy to serve a couple of people who wanted drinks and snacks.
The location was great. The hotel is very modern and clean and smells nice. The spa was lovely.

Please consider room rate reduction. I requested for late check out but still had to pay extra 80CAD after staying 14nights.
The location is second to none. Close to everything. We literarily walked to CN towers and Ridley’s aquarium. I want to particularly thank Tatiana and Mirek for their exceptional hospitality. They were extremely kind and friendly to me and my family during our stay.
