Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaThe menu!!!!!! No options at all. And they don't even have ingredients for a simple fruit salad. The menu for lunch and dinner is the same with little options
I didn't like the breakfast at all. There are no options at all. I think they should improve on the area of food and their menu

CanadaSECURITY SECURITY SECURITY. if you advertise Valet parking then a valet should be standing outside to greet you and provide security. Its insane to think this spot is 1/2 of block from a shooting gallery (fentanyl heroin addicts everywhere)' One stole my laptop while I prepped from ACCROSS the street to bring my belongings upstairs!!! These evil little things are constantly circling the grounds especially during check out hours looking to swoop in on foot or bicycle to snatch whatever they can. Don't be fooled the offsite parking is worse and dangerous for man woman child and beast!! Says a city official when I asked (a parking enforcement officer.
the comped breakfast for my lack of hot water all night and day. At best the water was temped at best. Not much else to like except the expresso machine in the room

CanadaA/C was hard to manage. MOstly too cold, and at night , it ws blowing directly on me, on my face, in bed. restaurant : I ordered a yogurt cup. It was absolutely measly! It filled about half a glass, with about two tablespoons of of yogurt, about three grains of granola and lots of jam, with little fruit. This was through room service, which took about 45 minutes to deliver. I would've sent it back, but I was in a rush, so I just ate what was there and checked out.
all staff great. At front desk, to cleaning staff. Good room.

CanadaBreakfast! Don’t waste your money on the ‘included’ breakfast. 1 of 5 small breakfast options to choose from and only permitted to one drink, 1 coffee or a juice. Breakfast service was terrible, no service. try the cute restaurant over the road for breakfast you won’t be disappointed!
The room was spacious clean and comfortable. the shower was amazing.

New ZealandWe had booked this hotel well in advance because we were coming to Kitchener for the annual Blues Festival. When we booked, we asked for a quiet room on a higher floor, away from traffic and street noise. The hotel accommodated us with a room on a higher floor, but our room was very noisy! We were facing the back alley, in a corner of the building and there was constant road traffic. There were also 4 rooms within close proximity to ours and when the other room doors opened or closed they banged and were very disturbing. The hotel did not seem that busy, so I don't know why we were put in such a noisy room when we had requested otherwise. Most of the other rooms in our hallway were stand alone, well away from other rooms, but were were tucked into this busy corner! We could have asked for another room, but by the time we figured out our room was so noisy, we had already unpacked all of our stuff. We were travelling from New Zealand and we had a lot of luggage with us. We did not want to pack again, move and then unpack again. I just wish the hotel had given us a quiet room in the first place! Our other major complaint was with housekeeping. We were in the room for 4 nights and we were told when we checked in, because of Covid, our room would not be serviced daily, but would be cleaned on the 3rd day of our stay. This did not happen. Our room was never cleaned. It was already late in the evening by the time we returned to the hotel on the 3rd night of our stay, so there would have been no sense calling to complain. I told all of this to the front desk staff upon check-out and all he said was sorry. We had to ask for coffee and milk more than once, and ask that our garbage was at least emptied and our towels were changed. But our bed was never made and our room was never cleaned during our entire stay. I find this unacceptable.
The location of the hotel is excellent. It is within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, and pubs. The front desk staff were very friendly.

IrelandWe were above the ballroom on a Saturday night so there was a wedding on but it was only a bit loud that one night.
Fantastic location in a beautiful historic building in downtown Kitchener. Easy access to the ion and iron horse trail. You can get anywhere tied like to go without needing to rent a car.

United StatesParking was across the street, if you had a lot of luggage, it could be a haul getting it to the hotel. Also, once you're across the street, you had to step up on the curb, and up a step (or 2 I can't remember) to get into the hotel. On the floor we were on there were 2 steps to get to our room. We did not have any issues with that, but if you have mobility issues, you will want to ask if there is an easier way to get in and out especially with luggage.
Cute hotel, giant room. Very comfortable beds. Great location. The staff was attentive.

CanadaWalls had obvious patches where holes were fixed and not even enough paint over it to hide the patch jobs. Gives it a cheap look. They said parking was across the street but the entrance was around the corner and a bit confusing to find and staff weren’t very helpful. Room is only cleaned every FOUR days during your stay, using the “minimizing contact with others” COVID excuse but we’re past the pandemic now and this seems like just a convenient excuse.
Bathroom was small but beautiful. Very clean, nice tile, nice fixtures and good lighting.
