Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe floor was not carpeted and it was really cold. The shower did not have a door. There was no place to hang the jackets

CanadaAll was good.
Leonhard's was a great breakfast spot. All of the restaurant's and venues were very close for walking. And the live music everywhere was awesome. Dueling pianos in our lobby was a treat since the show was sold out.

United StatesThe elevator shuddered dangerously and stalled, when we reported it, no one followed up to tell us if it was being fixed. We climbed a lot of stairs as a result. The hotel is trying quite hard to be "urban" and "trendy" - a little too hard for quaint Charlottetown.
Very good value, comfortable bed. Centrally located. Very strong wifi.

CanadaWe stayed back in July. We came to check in at 4.. which is the required time. Didn’t end up getting into the room until 5pm! Sandy she said her name was at front desk was so rude and rolling her eyes at all the guests coming in! We get to our room and all of the sheets were stained and pillows.
Good location

CanadaIt reminded me of a dorm experience. The rooms were very small. It was quite expensive for the size of the room, having to pay for street parking, and no TV/mini fridge/coffee maker, blow dryer in the room. No cleaning service between days or fresh towels/sheets available.
It was relatively clean and well located in Charlottetown.

CanadaFor the amount that we paid... We shouldn't have gotten as little as we did. I have stayed in numerous hotels in the past for roughly the same price range and recieved full service.
Location was the best thing about this place. It was walking distance from most areas.

CanadaBoutique hotels are not my thing. We had one chair in the room, ONE! How do you sit and share a glass of wine in the room....one sits on the bed, and one in an "office" chair. We had to "squeeze" by the bottom of the bed to get to the other side. Just look at the marks on the wall and you'll know that every single person has to shuffle past the bottom of the bed.
What breakfast? I had to leave to get coffee and muffins to bring back.

CanadaThe lack of a proper shower door, whether it was for the sake of budget, style, or what-have-you, was ridiculous. There is no way of properly showering without flooding the bathroom floor. The hotel is also very overpriced in comparison to neighbouring inns etc., and there is a lack of amenities. There is a bare bones lounge, but not even hot water (let alone a cup of tea or coffee) was provided unless you pay. No breakfast was included either. There is a restaurant in the lobby area, but we did not try it.
The location of the hotel is great, as it is in the heart of Charlottetown's downtown area. Nearby are a lot of shops and restaurants. The bed and mattress is large and very comfortable. There were plenty of pillows provided. The pump shampoo/conditioner/shower gel installed on the shower stall wall is also great and easy to use.

CanadaUpon request for a receipt of my stay , I was told I would have to contact the app I booked the room through.? I couldn’t even get a copy of one just for my records? I have yet to receive one from the app and after trying to contact someone , I was told that The Arts Hotel would be “responsible for that.” I have to agree . In any event I’m still waiting for a receipt!
Location and the Night staff, Kendera especially, were extremely helpful and knowledgeable AND very professional.
