Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThe WIFI was only accessible in the common parts of the hotel and from 7AM to 11PM
Well, you go there because it's the only hotel there. The location is amazing and that's what you are paying for but don't expect any type of luxury or services in the hotel.

CanadaAll good
The room was spacious, good mattresses. The geographical situation is very good, we did 3 nights in Banff, 3 nights at the Crossing and 3 nights in Jasper, which was the right choice for us as we hiked many trails all along the Icefield Parkway. I did not use the WIFI, but there was WIFI free of charge in the common area.

New ZealandFan in Light didn't work, and Fan Light worked intermittently. Didn't use WIFI as arrived late and left early. Only availability for that time was outside in one place so not convenient for that time of night but we did know that prior to arrival as noted in their advertising of facilities. Would be great if they could improve that.
Location was perfect for getting to the Icefields early the next day. Room was basic but had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Check-in staff were very helpful letting us know about road works before the Icefields so we could factor that in for the following days travel. Breakfast was good and staff lovely.

United KingdomThe room with two queen sized beds was quite small, not much room for four people to move around in. The Pub did not allow under 18's to enter, so we couldn't eat or have a drink with our teenagers there. Some will obviously think this is a good thing.
Good location to break a trip between Lake Louise and Jasper. 25 mins from the Athabascar glacier. Stunning views. Restaurant did good burgers.

Rustic cottage that after a long drive the premises were clean and comfortable. There is nothing flash about this accommodation but it met our needs.

CanadaThe Crossing is in bad need of up dating! Our room while clean felt a little shabby. The bathroom had cracks and water damage on the walls. I know that things are expensive in the National Parks but this room was not worth $300, we stayed in a cabin in Jasper for $250 a night and it was spacious, had a kitchenette, fireplace and an updated bathroom. The meals in the pub were outrageously priced! $25 for dry ribs! 9 pieces of overcooked ribs and a couple of pieces each of carrot and celery. The convenience store was no better. $6.50 for a single scoop ice cream cone. I can buy an entire carton of ice cream in my local grocery store for that price. I'm sure it was a nice place when it first opened up, but definitely is showing its wear. I was expecting more and have to say I was a bit disappointed.
The location was good for where we needed to be.

United StatesNO Wi-Fi, accept for in the Pub and unable to maintain stable connection. As for the rooms, the place looked a transitional layover on the way to somewhere nicer, very outdated with décor.
The staff was very accommodating. Location of The Crossing could not have been in a better location. Breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains was worth the drive.

United KingdomThis is the only location for fuel along the 230km Icefield Parkway. Costs of gas are consequently 25-30% higher than in Banff due to lack of competition. The gift shop was tacky and expensive. However, we needed neither, so it was of no concern to us
The location was the big draw. Most people, we were told, stop for one night. We stopped for three. There is plenty to do and see along the Icefield Parkway. The all you can eat breakfast was good too. It kept us going all day
