How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The location isn't the best. Our dining options were limited in the evening as we didn't fancy any of the on-site options. The property is tired but very clean.
This place provided decent accommodation for us at the last minute due to a cancellation of a booking we had elsewhere. The room had everything we needed and we had a 2 good nights of sleep. The surroundings are absolutely stunning!

Food was expensive. Rooms are quite old. Rooms are small. I knew this before I booked, it was what i expected.
Location was good. It was a good stopping point on the way to jasper. Staff were great.

Weirdly, every single room became ready for occupation bang on the check-in time of 4 pm. Quite a few people who, like us, had checked in earlier were in reception just be fore 4pm. We were all told that housekeeping staff were still working on the room. We exchanged glances. Then right on 4 pm, the housekeeping staff miraculously had every room ready. Seriously, the management need to work on customer relations.

Price of food in the pub and restaurant was astronomical! I get that it is a remote location and they only are open for part of the year but they really take advantage of that and hold you hostage if you want to eat. We’ll be back because of everything else that was great, but we’ll Come with a cooler full of goodies!😊

We loved the view, the quietness at night of no traffic so we could have our window open. The food was good as was our waiter who was excellent! I would stay here again.

Bathroom floor was dirty around the edges. The whole motel is very outdated with tiles from the 1970s. No English breakfast tea or kettle.

The restaurant was quite expensive and there are no other options. Next time I would just eat in the cafeteria as I did not feel the food offered in the restaurant was any better.

Decor a bit tired, but very clean.
Very friendly staff and super convenient location. I think some of the other reviews are forgetting this place is in the middle of nowhere, only opens for half the year and is completely off grid. Sure it’s a bit more expensive but that’s the price you pay for location. Drive another 90 minutes in either direction if you want higher end hotel facilities.

Our room was icy cold when we got there and it took awhile for it to become comfortable to take our coats off.

The bed wasn’t very comfortable and it was a bit hot in the room - we couldn’t leave the window open due to the noisy extractor fan outside.
The location was amazing with superb views. The room was well appointed and the staff very helpful. Also really liked the Pub - the atmosphere was great and we ate there both nights we stayed.

Wow, the views are incredible! Great location if you are on your way to Jasper from Banff- it is right on the Icefield Parkway. They have a gas station, convenience store, and pub on the property. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. Bed was comfortable with fresh linens. They have nice mini refrigerators and a TV. Great place to stay if you want to cut your trip time to Jasper in half. Was only here for a night and didn't get to have breakfast/coffee. It was easy to park.

All the food options in the restaurant and cafe were expensive and very very poor quality. The staff were unhelpful and seemed lacking in knowledge and probably unappreciated by management. It seems to be run by an absentee company who offers poor and limited services and is taking advantage of the fact it is the only accommodation available in this part of Banff national park. We felt exploited.

Because it is the only accomodation around you do pay a premium for a place that is not same standard as other accomodation in the same price range. Canteen was expensive room was small but was only for 2 days and served the purpose. Staff were lovely and very helpful.
Love the location, nice halfway point between Jasper and Banff. Beautiful surroundings and saw a black bear roaming around 😀

Laundry facilities were very handy. Staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly Kate in the restaurant. Location views outstanding. Evening buffet in restaurant was first class and good quality and value for money
