Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe restaurant: the food we ordered did not taste good, and the service was poor. We were the only ones in the restaurant for a while but we were not looked after: ran out of water and had to ask for more water. We waited for a long time for our bill when they had cleared our table earlier. I had to get up and go find the young lady and ask her for our bill.
It was at a good location and had gas accessibility. When the ice machine was empty of ice, a pleasant man ran to go get us a bag of ice and delivered it to Our door.

United KingdomLocation, location, location - it is the only place to stay for 100k in all directions. But it is in the middle of beautiful scenery and the owners have taken great care to make the surrounding grounds very pretty. There is a good pub on site (which we used twice), as well as a cafe and restaurant (which we didn't use). It exceeded our expectations.

CanadaWhen I first made the booking and was told the motel about my 14 lb service dog they informed me that they did not accept dogs even service dogs at their facility I called the Crossing to cancel the reservation then I got a call from the assistant manager who told me that they don’t allow the booking .com customers to book dogs and a new employee didn’t know what a service dog was so she told me that my service dog could not stay there. We were attending a wedding and needed a place in that area so we did keep our reservation ……they gave us a coupon for free breakfasts . Then because we had paid over $400 for one night we expected something better than 200 Thread count sheets. The place had not been upgraded for atleast 20 years the shower was so poorly set up that water ran all over the floor, no a/c again, we found someone’s old cereal bits under the bed for that much money one expects better. All the staff seemed to be very young students who worked in the restaurant telling people false ideas about being in that part of the world ( ie tell tourists that bears like to eat bacon) that is stupid and dangerous. The breakfast was mediocre at best powdered eggs overcooked both pancakes and bacon ,sausages were so dry they were not edible. Then they had a sale price on for just over $300 a night but because we had book with booking.com they would not give us that deal so maybe you can explain why when you say all over your site that you get me the best deals your not living up to your hype either. Tonight we are in Vernon BC at a Best Western for less than half that money and it is lovely clean comfortable nice new upgraded building and the staff here are amazing.

This motel is right in the middle of 2 of the most beautiful National Parks in the world. It was not an expensive place to stay, had comfortable beds, clean bathroom, gas station, place to eat, gift shop, goodies to purchase, absolutely gorgeous setting in the mountains.

CanadaBed wasn't clean, slept on top of covers. Stain on bed looked very questionable, blood?stain on shower curtain, larder larvae under pillow. If I wasn't exhausted from driving all day I would've left and drove far away, terrible first night on a honeymoon. Staff told me I'd be refunded and just waited for me to leave to fight me though email. Never again will I stay there.

PeruRoom was not ready. Room was super small, no air conditioning, no fan, bathroom super small, and smelled humidity. No good lightning. Also bought a tour to the glacier at the hotel and the lady gave me a ticket for the wrong date. The female clerk is not very professional and not detail oriented.

United KingdomThe buffet dinner was slightly bland but the staff were wonderful and very happy to help!
The hotel is so secluded and a really wonderful stopping location when travelling through the Rockies. We saw our first bear here along the side of the road! An awesome memory! The hotel has a gas station, bar, restaurant, buffet and shop so enough to keep you busy and happy for a night or two. There are walks and lookouts nearby with information about the history of Saskatchewan. Rooms were adequately sized for 2 people (a bit snug for 4). Wonderful views in every direction.

United StatesWe were told the restaurant was open till 10:30PM. It was not open at all. Your only option for food is a $30 hotdog/steak which you must cook yourself or a $15 sandwich. There is no other places for food for over 1 hour away. They advertised the gym and laundry which was locked which was super frustrating as I desperately needed laundry.
The member of staff who worked in the pub was nice. The location is beautiful.
