Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe shower pressure was terrible, the hot water kept cutting in and out but I also understand the remoteness of the area as well.
Yoh can't beat the view from anywhere in the hotel. Or server Ezra was easy to talk to, very helpful, accommodating, 5 stars for Ezra!

SpainAs expected, the cost is high in comparison with the quality of the room. The room had old furniture and wasn't too big, but we knew that already from other people's comments and knew that we were staying there for the location
The location is excellent and it allowed us to spend some extra time in the Icefields Parkway.

United KingdomRoom was a bit tired and needs updating. Food in the main restaurant was poor - carpaccio was frozen still and steak was dreadfully overcooked. The diner was better
The location was great for accessing the Glacier and Icefields Parkway. Despite the washing machine breaking down the maintenance staff did all the good to help us and get our laundry washed and dried and returned to us. V impressed.

I wasn’t expecting much, but the location was convenient for our itinerary. However we were pleasantly surprised, checking in staff were friendly and the rook was nice. The views from some of the rooms were amazing though we were located flat the back of the site. The Roman was clean and tidy with adequate facilities, a little dated but they worked fine. The bar on site was a real surprise, the staff were welcoming and there was a great lively feel to the place. We are there and the food was good, the view was to die for ! This is a great place and the location is perfect if you’re travelling in the Icefield parkway.

AustraliaJust be aware that although dining options are available, food and drinks are on the pricey side (as you would expect from such a remote place). If you want to self-cater, the convenience store is expensive and has limited fresh produce. BYO if you can. Due to insurance regulations, the rooms don’t have cooking facilities.
The Crossing was the perfect place for a midpoint stay-over during our two day trip from Jasper to Lake Louise, then Canmore/Banff. This allowed us to stop at waterfalls and hikes and take our time to experience the Icefield Parkway. Our room was basic, but clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the gorgeous views and our pub/grill experience.

AustraliaAfter reading reviews of the dining options available, we decided not to eat there. What a missed opportunity for a fantastic restaurant. The gift shop was incredibly overpriced so whilst the rooms were good, the amenities were sub-par.
Convenient location for travelling to the Columbia skywalk and the Icefields Parkway. The rooms were comfortable and quaint.

United StatesServices prices (food, gas, etc) are about triple what you’d pay in Banff or Jasper. And quality is lower. The staff are uninterested in guest comfort and more interested in efficiency of moving people in and out.
Location is everything here. It is 1.5 hours from Banff and 1.5 hours from Jasper, so you are in the middle of nowhere in the best way. There are good services: restaurant, pub, cafe, store, laundry, gas. The services are very overpriced (which the location does mostly warrant). The Wi-Fi was very strong impressively.

United KingdomI hesitated to book after reading other reviews and yes, it's a bit pricey for a motel, yes the rooms are a bit tired, yes the shop is expensive but how often do you get to stay in the middle of an icefield?! The view was fabulous, the staff were delightful and very helpful, the food was hearty and tasty with a good selection and the shop was well stocked and convenient. If it was a posher hotel you would pay double for the location! We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the unique setting.

United KingdomQuite pricey. Also they didn’t clean the room at all during our 2 night stay.
Great and unique location, convenient if you want to visit all 3 parks in the Canadian Rockies (Banff, Jasper, and Yoho). The setting itself is also amazing, with great views of the surrounding mountains. All the facilities are there (fuel, food, bar) and the rooms are nice and comfortable. Wifi works great.
