The end of our road trip was to San Diego, 12-17th July, we stayed on Shelter Island in Humphreys Half Moon Inn which was a beautiful oasis. The rooms were like apartments spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The pool area was perfect with towels too, and not too busy. The restaurant had really delicious food and wonderful views over the harbour. Great service too. We don’t get around to using our 1hr free cycle hire each day wish we had as the Shelter Island was beautiful. We hired a car for our road trip so had access to things, without a car Shelter Island is a little further away. We visited Coronado Island and the USS midway. Both well worth a visit. We also went to Belmont Park. We pre-booked a whale watching tour on the America Yacht which was absolutely fantastic and we were fortunate enough to see a blue whale incredible. The crew were fantastic it was a great half a day experience. The only downside was could have stayed a little longer to visit more. Loved San Diego what an incredible place.Guest review byKarenUnited Kingdom - 6.0
I live in the region. Carlsbad the city was not the issue.
I live in the region. Carlsbad the city was not the issue. It was Studio 6 that was disappointing. The advertisement on booking.com for this facility is inaccurate, downright wrong. When was the last time anyone from booking.com actually visited the property?Booking.com reputation is based on reviews from customers that use your services. Please, I implore you to have someone visit this property. This property is not a good representation of the city and of booking.com.Guest review byEvelynUnited States - 10.0

A sleepy little beach community that retains some of the charm of the past. Really affordable for vacation with lots of dining options at all price points. Also lots of lodging options at all price points. The beach is great, easily accessible with lots of paid lot and street parking. Relatively clean beach, with plenty of restrooms. Chairs & umbrellas, etc for rent if you don't bring your own. Fun to watch the surfers and people watch on the beach or the Strand. A very walkable city. Easy to access the Coaster train for trips to other beach cities or San Diego. Great public art, breweries and shops. A few favorite restaurants are Cosmos Burgers, Best Pizza & Brew, Harney Oceanside (sushi), Senor Grubby's (tacos). Favorite brewpubs, Stone and Green Cheek. LOVE the Thursday Sunset Market.Guest review bykate - 8.0
The breakfast was not up to my standards.
The breakfast was not up to my standards. The eggs tasted like water, no bacon just sausages. I only ate breakfast there my first morning, the other 3 I went somewhere else. The hotel charged my credit card the amount I paid at Booking.com.Guest review byDaleUnited States - 10.0
The staff were all very friendly and courteous.
The staff were all very friendly and courteous. The two main golf courses were open and great to play, but I was lucky as the Willow Glen course is still undergoing renovations. When those are completed it will be even more impressive. The greens played fast and true and were generally in great condition. The Oak Glen course is flatter and in excellent condition though also has some ongoing improvements happening. The Restaurant and Bar Staff were friendly and engaging, the Pro Golf Shop staff equally so. The food was very good with a variety of choice. In all it was a great experience to play golf there and soak up the ambience while taking in the history of the indigenous people in the area. I thoroughly recommend Singing Hill Golf Resort.Guest review byPhilip MarkAustralia - 2.0
I would not recommend staying at this place.
I would not recommend staying at this place. It has a very cheap, outdated, run down feel to it. Even the soap and shampoo are cheap. The bedding was inadequate as the blanket and comforter were so thin that I was cold all night and did not sleep well. My room had a peculiar smell to it and even though the facility is supposed to be non-smoking, people were apparently disregarding the rules because I could smell cigarette smoke everywhere and there were even cigarette butts on the upstairs walkway in front of one of the rooms. My room did not match the photos as it was dark and dingy and had no carpeting. This was a very disappointing experience and the price was way too high given the state of things so the value is not there. There was no mention of continental breakfast nor did I see where it could be so I'm not sure they offer it even though it is advertised.Guest review byduncanUnited States - 10.0
I love everything about Encinitas.
I love everything about Encinitas. It is one of the spots where you can go and feel like a local even if your not. I have stayed at the 12 Senses Retreat which was super cool with their nature themed rooms and the amazing hostess. And it is just up the road from Swammi's Beach and the Self Relization Center, which is gorgeous. I have stayed at Brisas Pacific Hotel which was super affordable and a few minutes walk to the beach. You can pretty much walk everywhere in Encinitas. I plan to move there myself soon :)Guest review byBrettUnited States - 2.0

I should’ve just spent 50 more to go to a better motel if I knew they were gonna rob me of 150, charged my card extra.STAY AWAY! it was dirty and unsafe, the employee Orlando and the young boys at night are rude and shady watch out!!!! Not a family friendly spot! And the roads leading up to the motel is killer on tires FYI. Spend a little more on somewhere better so you don’t get ROBBED A lot more.Guest review byAkaylaUnited States - 10.0
The apartment was perfect and had room for my group.
The apartment was perfect and had room for my group. Location seems safe. Not a great view, but the price is good and accomodations comfortable. Beds were pretty good and the couch was ok. A tad small, but it is an apartment so I expected that. I would definitely stay again.Guest review byGibson - 6.0

I am not familiar with national city but it's super close to TJ the Mexican border. If you don't want to stay in Mexico it is a very short drive and very convenient. It is also very convenient to drive from national city to the heart of San Diego.Guest review byc_gomez6United States
