Porto is so nice. A bit up-hill.
Porto is so nice. A bit up-hill. Then again you have earned a drink of your choice. A lot to bring back; pictures, chocolate, memories, and lots of authentic artwork. And then there is porto wine. Not to forget all that great food. Its a romanic getaway for couples. Well be back.Guest review byHaraldurIceland - 8.0

We visited during the Sao Joao festival and although extremely crowded- one of the most magical nights I've ever experienced. Such a beautiful sight to see, thousands of floating lanterns throughout the nights sky and a unbeatable fireworks show at midnight!Guest review byErinUnited States - 10.0

A delightful town, easy to walk round and interesting sights. The staff at the tourist information centre were exceptionally helpful and advised us what to see and do and how to get to places we wanted. They spoke excellent English. The highlight of our stay was a visit to the Museu Nogueira Da Silva with its gorgeous garden and nice little coffee shop. The chap who welcomed us at the Museu was very friendly and spoke good English. We also went out to Bom Jesus the World Heritage site, an easy bus ride away. The Jardim De Santa Barbara was a perfect place for lunch.Guest review byLizUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A wonderful historical and cultural city with great people...
A wonderful historical and cultural city with great people and places for walking. This was my first time far north in Portugal, and couldn't believe how much different it was. The mentality, climate, food, welcomeness, art, stylish people, great city organization, and cleanliness made me seriously considering to move here ♥ This place is for culture lovers, who find Porto to be wonderful, but too busy and unmaintained. Transportation is great and there is a wonderful nature connecting Viana, Ponte de Lima, and Ponte de Barca. See you soon my dearest VDC!Guest review byNikola - 6.0

Room had dated brown furniture , not enough space between bed and dressing table I stubbed my toes twice. No kettle with tea and coffee in the room . I didn’t like the body gel sachets in the bathroom . It all felt a bit penny pinching from the hotel , it cost enough to warrant a coffee and a generous amount of body wash in the shower. The hotel was quiet and we had a good sleep ,comfy bed ,nice blinds. The location was the best thing ,didn’t have breakfast because we left before 5AM.Guest review byThomas - 8.0

I love mountains and forests but live in the Lisbon area so visiting Gerês National Park was wonderful. There isn't a whole lot to do, especially if you don't have a car, but what there is to do, is great. Very worthwhile experience. 1. Get a massage at the spa 2. Visit the thermal pool, sauna and steam (or other services) 3. Take a guided Jeep tour through the National Park. 4. Stroll through the local forest park. 5. Dip in the park's pools. 6. Explore a few restaurants. 7. If so inclined, find some hiking trails.Guest review byToddPortugal - 10.0
A haven for surfers and watching them.
A haven for surfers and watching them. Watching the sun set, stunning. Very quiet, lovely bar / cafes right on the beach and a very short walk to the local shops, restaurants. Ubers the best way to get around 3-5 Euro for 30 mins into main city Porto. Highly recommend the Majestic in Porto and then walk down to the river in Porto, loads of things to see and do. Can imagine it much busier in summer. Loved it.Guest review byNickiUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Beach at Esposende too difficult to swim in due to pepples.
Beach at Esposende too difficult to swim in due to pepples. Other beaches at Ofir and Apulia excellent. Limited supply of restaurants and limitless supply of banks!!! Surprised by the obvious wealth amongst the Portuguese people with holiday homes here. Very few estrangers. Not for sailors. Good for families. Some surprising sculptures dotted around the esplanade from 1997 one in particular near the San Lorenca fort at Esponsende.Guest review byRogerIreland - 10.0
