A great city with many natural and historical attractions.
A great city with many natural and historical attractions. But it seems that tourists with cars are not welcome here. Unfortunately, I did not take a photo where you would see a car parked in a clearly defined parking space with a "parking" sign next to it, with a valid (not expired) receipt for payment under the windshield and a receipt for a fine for parking in the wrong place next to it ))Guest review byAndriiUkraine - 8.0

I wouldnt particularly recommend Estoril as a holiday destination. It is a residential area full of expensive houses and flats and a couple of big hotels. There is no centre or focal point to the town. The only draw seems to be the casino. There are no shops apart from a supermarket and newsagent and an expensive dress shop. ALthough there are restaurants dotted around the residential streets they dont feel very holidayish. If you are just using Estoril as a base to tour around the area then it will be fine but I would recommend staying in Cascais if you want a holiday resort with a holiday vibe and all the facilities.Guest review bySuzanneUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Oeiras is a suburb of Lisbon, so not overwhelmed by tourists. We found some great places to eat that were appreciative of our custom. There was a fantastic vegan restaurant just outside the town centre (Alma Veg). The main problem for us was the ddual carriageway that passes right by the beaches.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Comfortable and stylish in a quiet residential area of Carcavelos about 20 minute walk to a lovely beach (or a 6 minute cycle on electric bikes kindly provided by Manuel and Susana). Near the train station to Lisbon or Cascais. Nice outdoor area and a good bar just across the road for breakfast. We were only here for 2 days to attend an event but could have stayed much longer. Highly recommended.Guest review byMillonUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We were staying near by the train station. quite a few shops and restaurants with great seafood selection, cafeteria, pharmacy around. chinese mini supermarket where you can buy anything you can imagine (non food), walk to the beach is about 7minGuest review bySviat_FNetherlands - 10.0

Paco de Arcos was a short 20 minute ride from the airport and just outside the city center. It is a quaint town, quiet and had great restaurants, lovely people and easy access to both train transit and beaches. You can walk all the way to Lisbon along the waterfront with many beaches and landmarks. We did a day trip to Cascais via the train and were completely at ease for our entire stay. Our best outing was a day trip to visit many of the Knight's Templar historical sites with a local guide who was a history buff and shared much of his knowledge with us.Guest review byDiannaCanada - 6.0

The area was full of Quality built property with lots of trees, there were a good choice of supermarkets, the beaches were good, plenty of resturants bars and cafes, there was a nice small park.I dont go out drinking and I did not have details of any alternative evening activities, except for the excellent 4 evenings of musical entertainment at cascais festival. I ate all my meals at save the world hostels as it was my plan to walk and sight see in the morning take a break at lunchtime and do the same in the afternoon and read my books as well.Pingo Doice supermarket you could get a cup of coffee and a custard tart in their cafe for 1 euro.At Aldi Supermarket you could buy a packet of Markus Bio ground coffee (exc) Spar Supermarket exc choices only 7 mins away.Guest review byPeter - 8.0

It's a cosy little apartment, very well situated, with a lovely large patio, garden with swimming pool. However, being at the garden level I was surprised at how dark it was during the daytime. The kitchen and bathroom definitely need an upgrade for the price they are asking. Overall, a comfortable place for a short visit.Guest review byLynn & FrancoisCanada - 8.0
Lots of evening activity.
Lots of evening activity. Some restaurants and bars with live music. A lot of the old town has cobbled streets which are uneven and in many places some cobbles were missing, making it a poor surface to walk on. Lisbon and Sintra either a train or taxi ride away.Guest review bystephenUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Nicely decorated and lovely old history of Estoril.
Nicely decorated and lovely old history of Estoril. Enjoyed the sunroom / breakfast area and watched a lovely morning rain storm pass through. Love the honor bar system. Walking distance to the Estoril Casino a plusGuest review byJenniferUnited States
