A very nicely decorated hotel with great value for money in a superb location little of the main street. Good spot for exploring the surroundings. We had an amazing view on the Tatra mountains from our room and balcony. The Spa was very charming with Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam bath. Everything was quite new and exceeded our expectations. Also the breakfast had a huge selection and good quality.

    Zakopane is a touristy ski/hiking city, but it has a layout...

    Zakopane is a touristy ski/hiking city, but it has a layout that prevents it from getting too noisy. Traditional building types are respected so it all has enough character to enjoy. It gives access to a nr of hiking trails into a national park of the High Tatra Mountains. There you can do basic level walks but also quite steep and rocky trails to mountain lakes. Access to the park is ~3$ and the bus to Morski Oko (one of the big attractions) is ~4$ (one way) plus a walk of courses. I had a good time recovering from a long trip through Poland. I hiked to the Five Lakes Valley which is a true hiking trail, then to Morskie Oko and back to Palenica. Some trails are fine for kids others are best enjoyed with some fitness practice ;-) Zakopane has luxury spa's and basic hotels, so if you come to hike it will allow you to do that, if you come to feel luxury in a relative remote place it will also deliver..

    It was an excellent choice. We were not familiar with it at all but the location was great, our accommodation lovely and there were so many things to do and at reasonable pricing. We'd recommend it absoutely. We were hoping for more snow but accept that was not something controllable 😂. However, historically, the time when we were there (29 Jan to 5 Feb) was the time of the most snow and lowest temps but the locals told us that for the past two years they had had their snow earlier and apparently a week or two before we arrived there had been a lot of snow.

    Bialka turned out to be far from Zakopane --> with transportation. And there's a sad fact that transportation from/to Zakopane is so hard and rare. If you have a car it'll be wonderful for you, Small, cozy, lovely, and people are nice. If you can depend on Hitchhiking, you'll also manage there, although people are not used to it and they thought we're waving so they waved back and smiled. But ofc some people stopped and took us with them.

    One of the most stunning spots in Polish Podhale region. Downside: Road works in the middle of high season slugged down the traffic through. We were lucky staying in Jurgów, away from town centre but close enough everywhere we needed

    Poronin is a nice little town, far from Zakopane’s crowds so perfect for those looking for a quiet place. Zakopane is only 10 to 15 minutes drive from Poronin so it’s easy to get there entertained if needed. However, having own car in Poronin is a must as public transport is not great.

    Great location for both hiking and as a base for visiting multiple tourist attractions by car. Even if you want to visit Zakopane, it is within easy reach from Murzasichle but you do not need to spent all the time in those extreme crowds in Zakopane on popular dates.

    Biały Dunajec is a small town not far from Zakopane. You'll most likely travel through here, but it's also perfect for staying the night. Good hospitality awaits those who visit the Tatra mountains either for sking or other forms of recreation.

    Duration of stay was too short (one night) in order to evaluate it properly. We came late night and left early morning. However, we could find a place for dinner, which has been great. Also, it is impossible to evaluate view, as it was rainy with clouds too low, so in the morning has been impossible to see anything.

    I would like to explore more options. 4 days wasn’t enough. Thermal baths were amazing if you like fun and spa and water jets , massage for the whole body and also thermal water which is healing for various things , nervous system and skin and so much more . Such a good relax. Food was amazing, visit Restaurant U Sliwi and some koliba restaurants in Slovakia , they make amazing food . Cheese is lovely and everything is made from wood. Thermy spa are so clean and relaxing on both Polish and Slovak side. If you go in winter there are lots of ski resorts. I would come againZ

    The tatra mountain region of south poland is stunningly beautiful with so many hiking opportunities and beautiful views. The locals were super friendly and helpful. Away from the touristy hot spots, it was quiet and just so relaxing. We combined staying here with a weekend in Krakow. The train from Krakow to Zakopane was such a good service and about £7 each. Highly recommend coming here.
