Oaxaca is a wonderful destination for family and friends.
Oaxaca is a wonderful destination for family and friends. There is a lot to see and do (museums, workshops, restaurants, etc.). I highly recommend Oaxaca. If you are thinking of visiting, book your trip for 5 or 7 days. There's lots to do and visit! July is perfect for the festivities (Guelaguetza), weather is pleasant, tropical. Highly recommend.Guest review byAngela - 10.0
Amazing destination for a quick trip.
Amazing destination for a quick trip. People is friendly and kind. There are a lot of tours with pick up and drop off at the hotel/hostal/ Airbnb included. At night it might feel a bit insecure because there isn't a lot of public lighting but it's safe to walk around. I definitely loved the people, they take care of the environment and tourism. Didi works there but don't expect a quick answer, normal taxi is way better and safe.Guest review byAbib Elizabeth - 10.0

Make sure you find out which beaches are swimable before you go, and if you go snorkling go with a guide. The currents can be strong - and some dangerous- so a guide will help avoid that and provide support. Public bathrooms have no toilet seats, sometimes there is no toilet paper, and sometimes the only way to flush is with water. The people are friendly and helpful and wonderful. Most do not speak English but you’ll make friends everywhere you go. The seafood is outrageously good. Eat as much seafood as you can. I didn’t go into town so I can’t speak to that. I loved it.Guest review byReneeUnited States - 10.0

Well, I.from the cold blue north and live in Oaxaca much of the year. Zipollite, if you don't know, is a tiny hub of tranquillity and common sense, about and hour south of Puerto E. It is the only nude beach in Mexico which scares away the MAGA crowd, but basically anything considered weird in other places is overlooked here. You can smoke a little weed in the surf side cafes. You can start a conversation with anyone in almost any language. You are worshipped for the goddess inside you and the town is full of beautiful young men and women with a few locals sprinkled in. I hate it that the real estate prices have gone sky high, but you can still rent a basic apt for about 10,000 pesos per month. The food is excellent. The people are lovely. I'm an old straight college teacher from CAnada and I love the place.Guest review bySladeCanada - 10.0

Mazunte is a wonderful, laid-back friendly town. There are many restaurants with diverse cuisines and shops with beautiful and unique art, clothing and local goods. It is very much an old-hippie town with kind and welcoming vibes. Fun!!!Guest review byTylerUnited States - 8.0

Lively beachside spot with great food and drink options Brisas de Zicatela is a bustling strip running parallel to the beach, offering a great selection of bars and restaurants. It has a laid-back, lively vibe and is ideal for a few nights away if you’re looking to enjoy good food, drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere just steps from the ocean.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 8.0

San Agustinillo is a sleepy village where the primary activities are lounging, swimming, surfing, and eating. It seems European/North American expats make up a large proportion of permanent residents, making it difficult to discern who the tourists are, so expect to see high numbers of caucasians. Nearby Mazunte (15 min walk) is slightly larger but is much the same with more dining/shopping options open later into the evening, attracting a younger crowd.Guest review byJoshUnited States - 4.0
Salina Cruz is a very peaceful place offering some beaches...
Salina Cruz is a very peaceful place offering some beaches where surfing can be performed. It was a tiny seaport that grew up due to the oil refinery, not really recommended as a tourist destination by itself since there are limited facilities, with lot of eateries but very few good restaurants, one of them being Santa Julia inside the Misión de San José Hotel. Many secondary streets are in need of maintenance or not paved, although main avenues are in more or less good condition. Most of the traveling here has to do with oil or navy issues.Guest review byJose AntonioMexico - 10.0

I would come here for a peaceful getaway: to read a book at the hotel or on the beach, watch the sunsets, listen to the sound of powerful waves, enjoy sandwiches and coffee at a café, take a boat tour, and go for a sunset walk along the shore. The calm beaches are crowded, and the main beach isn’t suitable for swimming. So if you’re looking for a place to swim a lot — this isn’t the right spot.Guest review byirina_ostroukhovaRussia
