Staff were fantastic from the moment we walked in the door! We booked for three adults, one couple plus an extra person - they provided us two rooms with adjoining balconies which was perfect! Breakfast was great, location is perfectly located on the river front with amazing views whilst being a short walk into the town centre and temples.

This place boasts an amazing view – it's worth staying here for that. You'll find a clean, spacious room, an excellent pool, and even monkeys in the trees right next to the veranda. The breakfasts are good and filling, and you can easily walk to Lion Rock. ​The only downside is the road leading to the main one (about 300-400 meters), which isn't lit and has many stray dogs. It's quite unpleasant to walk at night, but you can always take a tuk-tuk to get where you need to go.

Hidden gem outside Kandy. Stopped here for one night on our way from Sigiriya to Ella to break up the tuktuk drive a bit. Hotel is ran by very friendly guys and the room was great with a nice balcony with a view over the valley. Swimming pool was a great addition as we used it both that afternoon and the next morning before we left. Breakfast was also very good - best hoppers i had in Sri Lanka.

We had a wonderful stay here! The rooms were spacious and very clean, and we loved the beautiful, large swimming pool. The staff was super attentive and kind. We were on our way to our next destination, when they let us know we had forgotten something at the hotel. Thanks to Bernard, it was arranged immediately, and within a few hours, we received our forgotten item at our new address. Amazing service – thank you, Bernard, for going the extra mile!

This was my second stay. The place is surrounded by greenery, away from the noise of the city, and I was able to relax in peace. The room had a bedroom and a dining area, and I could connect via Bluetooth to enjoy music, which made for a very private and comfortable stay. The facilities, amenities, and natural interior design were all perfect. Thanks to the warm smiles and kind hospitality of Charuka and all the staff, I felt completely at ease and relaxed throughout my stay. Thank you so much!

    Small town compared to Colombo.

    Small town compared to Colombo. Visit the Budhist temple of tooth relic, Kandy Lake, Botanic Gardens, and Hilltop areas. The city has options for restarurants , but is very crowded with people and can get a bit noisy with tuktuks everywhere. Majority of people are helpful and can speak english.

    Stayed 6 nights and used Sigiriya as a base for visiting the ancient cities, an elephant safari, a boat trip, for Dambulla caves, a Loris walk and to climb Lion Rock and Pidurangala. This is the perfect spot being central to all those places and having great facilities with a lovely sleepy village feel. Tuk tuks prices are a bit hiked but nothing else negative to say.

    Amazing history of the city and its fantastic old and newer temples. Thoroughly enjoyed our Sri Lanka traditional cooking experience, a must do in Anuradhapura. Wildlife park was great with many different animals and birds, but didn’t seem to be large numbers of animals.

    We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from Adam's Peak!) but instead chose the much shorter Pidurangala which afforded a fabulous view of Sigiriya. Highly recommended. A visit to the Bawa hotel, Heritance Kandalama, is well worth it as an insight into the brilliant architectural mind of Geoffrey Bawa.

    The ancient city of Polonnaruwa has a lot to offer to the tourists who want to know about the history of Sri Lanka. It has so many ruins and monuments to view, and especially marvel at the stone crafting abilities of ancient Sri Lankans who have created so many buddhist states and artistic monuments by using rocks. Definitely a trip to add to your bucket list.

    A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree view points. But if it rains it will ruin your plans. So make sure you depend on weatherly and visit Matale when it shows many continuous sunny days. Even on cloudy forecasts do not visit as all mointain tops then will be covered and you will not see the sights. when it is humid leaches also will be active and will become a painful experience.

    Two nights stay is just perfect. Stay closer to kandy lake. Choose wisely on the restaurants as most of them serve unnecessary spicy food. Choose only pickme or Uber app to book a transport. Be aware of the hustle from tuk tuk and taxi drivers. Be cautious at night.

    Watching the sunset from Sigiriya was truly unforgettable. As the sun dipped low behind the distant hills, the entire landscape transformed into a canvas of gold, orange, and soft pinks. The ancient rock fortress, already majestic by day, took on a mystical glow during golden hour.
