Bolzano was truly beautiful.
Bolzano was truly beautiful. Alpine, idylilc, pastoral -- I felt like I was in a storybook! It's hard to imagine that places like this exist in this world, however, Bolzano is very real. Quiet, peaceful, lovely and refined. A throwback to a kinder, gentler world. I walked through the park near the river and it was truly relaxing. I shopped on Via Di Porticci which has high end shops. I also went on the Ritten Cable Car and the little train at the top of the mountain. It was delightful. This is a great place to relax and enjoy life.Guest review byNaamaIsrael - 10.0
Very pretty Tyrolean town. Lots to see.
Very pretty Tyrolean town. Lots to see. Great for walking without having to hike. Great river walks. A mix of Austria and Italy. A friendly welcoming place. Lots of lovely restaurants, cafes and bars and they are not over expensive. The scenery is beautiful. We were there mid June and it wasn't too busy. Very relaxed atmosphere. The gardens at Trauttmansdorff castle are worth a visit. We spent about 4 hours there. We spent much of our time outdoors.Guest review byKarenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This is a relatively small town and so easily walkable with lots of really nice local bakers, and shops selling cheese, wine, speck and chocolate - plus the usual supermarkets, pharmacies and places where you can get all your hiking and walking gear. Try strolling along all the narrow streets that lead off the main square to see what's there. A really pleasant and slightly longer walk to take is by following the path along the river to the nearby Neustift/Novacella Abbey where you can try the excellent wine they make there (the local grape varieties are Kerner and Sylvaner) and cheese.Guest review byRuthUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The town is the perfect location to explore the Dolomites.
The town is the perfect location to explore the Dolomites. Hotels and Apartments are plentiful and in every price level. You can choose from so many hikes (all different levels) you can fill 3 weeks. Depending what other locations are on your itinerary, 3 days allow you to see the highlights and get a sense of the beauty of the Dolomites. Yet, it's easy to fill a week. Summer like winter.Guest review byMichaelGermany - 10.0

A lovely town in the valley with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants but also gave easy access up into the mountains via cable car/funicular. Also easy to get the bus to St Christina and Selva for other cables cars and walks. The Val Gardena mountains are simply stunning with plenty of great walking accessible from OrteseiGuest review byNicholasUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Traditional Village that is set back from the main route so there is far less traffic than Selva. Still have quick access to the Sella Ronda from the main gondola Can be a little bit confusing navigating the pistes at first as they aren't all numbered clearly but it's quick to figure out. If you end up in Selva then there is a bus back but easier to take the gondola up and take the red down.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Kronplatz is everyone's favorite skiing destination.
Kronplatz is everyone's favorite skiing destination. Many slopes of varying difficulty. Something for everyone. All are very well groomed every single night. Lifts are refreshed / replaced by newer at extreme rates. Parking at the bottom station of the gondola is the best that you will ever experience and the price is quite affordable.Guest review byJurajCroatia - 10.0

Vipiteno is a beautiful location that affords visitors a step back in time. The cobble stone streets, the picturesque view of the alps, the bell tower and town center are a colorful floral motif. The vintage apartments, businesses, and historic churches make for a wonderful time spent exploring!Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

We didn't visit any of the other small network of towns around Badia, however Corvara seemed the right mix of small town charm and big enough to have a variety of restaurants. We were there at peak season between Christmas and New Years and most restaurant reservations were fully booked already. Next time we will book those earlier.Guest review byMikeUnited States
