Not your typical choice for a seaside location.
Not your typical choice for a seaside location. Bari is split into two; one side of the train tracks and the other. The old town is beautiful, interesting and vibrant, this flows into the modern town, which is quite interesting and has a lot of cafes and shops, but not as pretty as the old town. Then there is the other side of the tracks, which has little to recommend it. Not a lot of greenery, cafes or activity, just lots of condominiums and the prison.Guest review byEva - 8.0
Very nice town with good restaurants and monuments.
Very nice town with good restaurants and monuments. It is well situatd as base for exploring the Salento peninsula, especially the beaches. This is the land of a thousand beaches on both the Adriatic and Ionian sea coasts. Nice sand, clear and warm water, no wonder the Italians love to vacation there.Guest review bybehrouzUnited States - 10.0
For me it was better than expected! .
For me it was better than expected! . There are a lot of Plazas and in one of them very close to our Stay, we even saw a live convert. The beach was only 10 minutes walking and the water was delicious. The street, the restaurants, the little shops, the whole ambiance was perfect! Verily close to other towns like polignano a mare, bari and others.Guest review byLourdes MPuerto Rico - 10.0

Amazing city, the only problem is Car parking space, if you want to stay in the historic center, this is the place as it is close to everything. The host was very polite and help us with very nice tips. The accommodation is big enough, I would truly recommend The problem is parking cars, you just have one parking space nearby and is crowded.Guest review byDaltonIreland - 10.0

A beautiful area, lovely setting with the caves and the lovely colour of the water below the cliffs. Boat trips ongoing all day accessing the caves most days. Easily walkable and restaurants not far away. Lots of work going on - possibly reinforcing car park area near the apartment. Lovely roof top restaurant in same street, outdoor trattoria a couple of hundred feet away. Habitat Coffee Shop was a delightful find and not far from the grocery shop. Pretty old town area and access to the newer town - shade and benches were much needed in the heat. Tuktuk tour interesting and gave one more idea of distances to places.Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Vieste is really interesting and pretty old town and the people are friendly. Good standard of restaurants and not overpriced. There's a port where we hired a boat or you can get a boat trip. Some parts are very steep but worth walking up for the views. We stayed on the beach, a 25 min walk in along the beach but worth it or there's a bus for 2 euros p.p Would definitely recommend it :)Guest review byJonnyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A lovely, characterful old town full of charming local people. Some great views to be had over the surrounding countryside and a good selection of cafes/restaurants. Steep in places with well-worn cobbles/paving stones so please watch your footing and best to have 'grippy' soles! Lovely at night and always another interesting (and safe) alleyway to discover, complete with fairy lights and flowers.Guest review byMarilynUnited Kingdom - 10.0

My visit to Alberobello was absolutely enchanting – the charming trulli houses, rich history, and welcoming atmosphere made it feel like stepping into a fairytale. Wandering through the narrow stone streets, exploring local shops, and enjoying authentic Apulian cuisine created an unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone seeking beauty, culture, and a touch of magic.Guest review byArdianeKosovo - 10.0

So much to see and do, lovely, friendly atmosphere, with a beautiful port and castle and lots of wonderful restaurants to choose from! The nearby beaches were clean and not too crowded in July with the most beautiful sea for swimming. We can't recommend Otranto highly enough!Guest review bySaraIreland - 10.0

Nice beaches, plenty of fast food vendors, or dine-in restaurants if you prefer. Beaches were very clean, and locals very helpful. Prices were very reasonable too, with local shops providing local produce. For a real treat, try Cosimino Restaurant on Via Cosimo Albano; you can book a table overlooking the sea - its great food, and a fabulous atmosphere. It was not a noisy resort, in fact, we thought it was quiet, however, on weekends there was live music after dark. If you are planning a stay, Porto Cesareo is the perfect place to unwind and capture some Italian sunshine.Guest review byJeffUnited Kingdom
