This is not a tourist place nor a beach place.
This is not a tourist place nor a beach place. There is a pleasant walk along the river towards the sea, some restaurants along the fishing quays, but above all it is a place to overnight while passing through Fiumicino airport. So pick something inexpensive with easy access to and from the airport. Choose one on the bus line and it costs almost nothing. Shuttles can usually be arranged but at a price. Some hosts will pickup and return guests to the airport for a small fee. There ae taxi services, but be wary, some way overcharge. We were quoted roughly 50 euro one-way for a taxi pickup; we took the bus for 3 euro. Our hotel host drove us back for 20.Guest review bymichaelItaly - 10.0

A bit of a military town (nato and US frigates, etc) but I think Gaeta has something for everyone. Great community, historical sights, and an amazing park with ruins and tunnels. It did cost me 25€ to get to my hotel from the train station, but I was told by locals this was a fair price,Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Our stay was absolutely wonderful — we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The apartment is in a perfect location — ideal both for day trips outside central Ostia and for easy access to the beach, which is just a 10-minute walk away. The beaches were clean and well-maintained, perfect for relaxing. The flat is fully equipped with everything you might need, including an iron — a detail I really appreciated. We were warmly welcomed with bottled drinking water in the fridge, coffee, and some small snacks — a lovely touch. Communication with the host was excellent — friendly, responsive, and reliable throughout our stay. You can’t go wrong with food anywhere you choose — after all, it's Italy! We had a fantastic time and truly appreciated the warm welcome.Guest review byMartinSlovakia - 10.0
Beyond gorgeous.
Beyond gorgeous. It’s a dream vacation spot and easily travelled by electric bike to all the beaches. Mostly Italian tourists which made it seem much more chilled out than other beach spots in Italy. Highly recommendGuest review byKristinaUnited States - 10.0
We were in Terracina the last two weeks of June.
We were in Terracina the last two weeks of June. We experienced a local feel with few tourists. the old town is fantastic. We rented electric bikes, which is recommended. Then you can get around easily. A trip up to the temple went like a dream in the heat. We also cycled out to the Cantina Sant'Andrea winery. It took approx. one hour one way. A wonderful trip and a great visit where we tasted many good wines. One should also enter a trip to Ponza. The ferry departs from the city centre. An incredibly cozy island. We chose to rent a boat when we were out there, so that we could take a trip to the outside of the island and swim in the crystal clear water. It was magical! We only took a day trip, but we should have included an overnight stay at Ponza.Guest review byKnut IvarNorway - 10.0
A lovely mostly little undiscovered medieval town.
A lovely mostly little undiscovered medieval town. It’s only small but very cute with lots of restaurants and an attractive cathedral and papal palace. Easily walkable and not very far from Rome. Mostly quiet except on weekendsGuest review bycatherineAustralia - 10.0
Sperlonga is a beautiful town.
Sperlonga is a beautiful town. The only thing really the town suffered from was lack of large food store. There were some small stored but no parking so if you are located away from them, you had a very challenging walk back to apartment.Guest review byBASIreland - 10.0
We liked the most the place was very calm, no noise.
We liked the most the place was very calm, no noise. You can easily find local restaurants with reasonable prices or can go to Anzio city to find more sophisticated restaurants. It is better to have a car as the sea is approximately 50 min. by walk.Guest review byLoreta
